chickens coming home to roost isn't about what you "deserve." it's about what is the natural outcome, you can't know ALL the outcomes when you do something. sometimes that outcome is some vicious freakin' chickens with bird flu rather than the happy, healthy ones you thought you had.

 

Please take note of what he said in realtion to the comment...he is indeed stupid, do you agree with what he said?

 

i do, a bit. it's not about "deserving" what happened. yeah, he's a bit of a dick, always has been. but chickens coming home to roost IS apt, just ugly. i don't believe innocents ever "deserve" to die for just trying to make a living. but we americans have a long history of not paying attention to the shenanigans of our leaders. can't really blame us, though.

He didnt say Americas actions in politics, war/invasion or whatever simply caused this to happen...he said Americas chickens coming home to roost...which does have connotations of karma, deserving and the rest of it. Its hard to explain as the line is thin and depends a lot on the wording. Hes just so incredibly vague about the whole thing and i hated the comment

That is , if 3000 innocent lives are lost , and it saves 1m innocent ones , is that justified?Many people , when pushed would say yes.Bush and his forebears would rather kill 1million and pretend it will save 1000.Ultimately the tone for all this was set in Washington.

This is an insanely head-in-the-sand thing to believe... Terrorists are individuals who come out of particular socio-political conditions and make judgements and decisions based on their experiences. We may hate the judgements they make and actions they perform but it's impossibly naive to think that they operate in a total vacuum unaffected by world events and the foreign policies of major governments...

I am completely aware and fully understand that "they" use what "we" do as an excuse...I'm not going to sit here and accept that what "we" do is our "chikens coming home to roost"...which is what is being said here.
You have to agree that what "we" do is wrong...to think that what "we" have done justifies what "they" do.
