This is the first confirmation that AMD has succeeded in combining their Infinity Fabric technology with their gpu chips. The 28.4 double precision teraflops are enough to possibly run real time photo realistic ray tracing in VR, which is a bit more than anyone I know needs, but this card is certain to cost as much as a automobile. Which is still good news, because it means the same technology can be applied to consumer graphics cards by simply using single chips designed for gaming. Ironically, half of 28tf is 14tf which is a much better figure for merely running video games at 4k resolutions and high frame rates, while AMD's new Navi 20 chips use a different architecture and should be even more powerful than these for games. By the time this dual gpu technology comes down in price to even high end gaming, it could approach 60tf which is half the estimated power required to run a Star Trek holodeck. Again, way more than anyone I know needs, which means the cost of graphics cards should keep coming down in price dramatically for the foreseeable future. If you need a graphics card, this summer presents the best opportunity to find deals after AMD and Nvidia finish releasing their new offerings. Give it a couple of weeks afterwards, and prices should start to stabilize.
The thing is lucky if it can run any game, because that's not what its designed to do and it likely has no compatible drivers.
