A thoroughly, ignorant, ill-informed and pathetic post. Its not really any wonder why Americans(some of them atleast!) are so hated around the World. Do yourself a favour and read this website. truejustice.org. ( or any one of several NON-American propagandist sites) You might want to read the pdf files of the judges reports. BY the way, I think I know what I'm talking about. I did actually learn criminal law from about the most famous criminal professor in England.. Somehow I suspect your knowledge of legal principles amounts to something along the lines of "they're foreign, so they're Commies, lets bomb them.." By the way, she definitely WOULD have been convicted in the US. And very likely executed. Then we wouldn't have to read crap defending this Monster of Seattle. You should be ashamed of yourself. But doubtless, you're too busy talking typical narcissistic-US-biased garbage... I predict this monster gets it throat slit in the next few years.. I wonder if it will volunteer to go back to Italy to "clear its name"... I suspect next.
UK law isn't relevant to the situation, and a law degree doesn't prove anything to me. Some of the most worthless politicians in US history had law degrees from prestigious colleges. That's a political point of view, not a legal principle. I strongly suspect a real lawyer would know the difference. :toetap05:
Rather than discuss any legal principles, you question hers when she wasn't making a legal case, and then you back it up with two paragraphs bashing the US. This isn't about that. This is about whether it even matters if a woman that ridiculously beautiful is a murderess or not. I would help Amanda Knox hide bodies if she needed.
That's another odd thing from our point of view. Here, when a conviction is overturned on appeal, that's generally the end of it. There is no third trial. Has this case received a lot of press coverage in the UK?
I cannot believe they are allowed to try her again. Double jeopardy? (Yes, I know this is not in the U.S. and things are diff but crazy.)
She was convicted at trial. Won the appeal (mixture of bullying, very likely bribes and Italian cowardice). However, the appeal can be overturned according to the principles of Italian criminal procedure. However, her conviction for attempting to fit up the bar owner is upheld. Therefore she's still the equivalent of a convicted felon.
I agree. I don't know if she had anything to do with the murder or not, but certain things about her actions/story/demeanor just cast suspicion on her.
Earlier in the case, it seemed more likely that she was innocent, or that there was reasonable doubt. The more she changes her story, the less I believe her. I still have no clue why we all know her name though..
wow 5 years later ad here i am posting in this thread again. A documenatry about this case recently came out on netflix. Im in the middle of it right now but its pretty good. After its over im going to re read this thread and see if my opinion on her has changed. I dont even remember what i had said about her 5 years prior to now..
Overall it was a good documentary. It does seem the police made quite a few flaws involving the evidence. Amanda knox seems pretty depressed now. Idk how long it would take or if you can even recover from something like that.
Sounds like you are the ignorant one, actually. Full of hate and perpetuating idiotic stereotypes. Try to argue sans logical fallacies and than you can be taken seriously. In the mean time, try to grow up a little.
I didnt really follow the case. I actually didnt realize she was considered beautiful because i'm only seen a couple of pictures of her looking sad in court lol. I read through the last page in this thread and it struck me that two different dudes said it doesnt matter if she is a murderer because she is hot. I'm totally going to cite this thread next time some clueless sap makes a thread asking why he always ends up with crazy bitches.
Yeah, same here a documentary recently came out on CBS: The Case Of: Jon Benét Ramsey that brought back memories for me as well when I followed the case closely Hotwater
idk if i was watching that one, or one on the investigation ID channel about her but yea its interesting. Do you think her parents are completely innocent?
Yes I believe the parents are withholding valuable information. I don’t believe they killed Jon Benet but they know who killed her and they’re covering it up. Patsy clearly wrote the ransom note; the note pad is sitting on the desk and the pen they found matches the ink. The investigators concluded and I believe rightfully so that Jon Benet’s 9 year old brother Burke killed her by hitting her over the head with a flashlight. Weeks earlier in a fit of rage Burke hit Jon Benet over the head with a golf club Hotwater
another name i've never heard of. i see so many loony people every day, when another one of them makes the news, its another 'meh'. what do i mean by loony if i don't believe in normality? basically inconsiderateness, though clinical insanity also applies. i am making no judgement of individual persons i am unlikely to have ever met nor to do so.
