That has realized the stupid sacrifice this site has made in accordance to good news sourcing?

It used to be that actual, intellectual, thought provoking articles were provided.

Now, it is all entertainment crap.

And the long term members of this site are fine with this stupidity?

 

I don't want to be entertained.I'm not some fraking monkey in a cage.

 

The only thing that gets me is all the ridiculous sex threads. Hard to wade through.

 

Who provided these articles earlier and why did it stop? No, i did not notice but I agree such a change would be a shame.

 

If we were offended by stupidity, we would never have lasted this long.

i would love for there to be such a place as you seem to have gotten this place confused with. if you ever find one, let me know.
the last time i can recall random thoughts being anything other then entertainment crap was sometime in the mid to late 90s.
the first year or two the site existed.

i do sympathise with what you are saying, though i'm as not sure if i would or not with your reasons for saying it, if i knew what they were.

i have my own reasons for saying and feeling something that sounds like what it sounds like you're saying.

i too find sports and soap operas and exitement in general tedius crap. i find craftsmanship far more intereting to me personally.
and how people could have a world they would enjoy living in without destroying it.
in general the real things real hippies were about. peace, civil rights, all that sort of thing.

but a place is what it is. what the consensus of its population makes it.

i can say what i believe in, expect to get laughed at for doing so, laugh back, and keep saying it.
that's all that anyone can really expect of this place. and has been for almost two decades.

so i'm really curious where anyone got the idea it has ever been anything else, for at least that long?

 

I still like the site. The only thing I don't like since the re-vamp is the headline articles. Whatever happened to the useful information I got here before hearing it anywhere else???

Now it's always "50 Shades of Grey movie" coming out or some other stupid popular movie title. I was really surprised not too see a Riots in Ferguson MO headline when all that was going on. I guess it's ust more focused solely on Free Speech now rather than what's actually happening in the world.

That, I miss. Threads are still good tho. Hit and miss, but lots of good ones.

No offense to the forum but HF has never been my "go to" source for news so I guess I haven't noticed any change in articles. I just post in the threads that I feel like commenting on.

 

same here. my ego though, this is how i know about ego messing people up, sees every topic as a piece in the big picture, and immediately has something to say in relation to it. which then my own less then mensa capacity struggles with trying to translate my thought into something someone will have some idea what i'm trying to say, while trying to reduce the likelihood of its being completely misread.

 

this site provides articles? and has for some time now?
