I assume this is the right forum for my question. Because I really want to know. My cats are indoor cats. I would never dream of letting them out. And in the winter time, my house does get rather dry, from the heat. Plus my cats are rescue cats (more on that later). Anyways, in the winter, I often pet them. Petting you animals has many benefits. It lowers your blood pressure, and raises your mood. And it makes them feel good too, which is also important. The only thing is, when I pet them in the winter, I keep hearing this crackling, static-electric sound, and my hand strokes their fur. And as I put them down, I get one last minor shock of static electricity myself. My cats seem to otherwise enjoy it. But they are rescue cats. Their former human owner abused them. So they just marginally trust humans anyways. So it is hard to tell if they are indifferent because they were abused, or indifferent because they are getting shocked as I pet them. What do the rest of you think? And I know this is the animal section of these boards. But while were at it, what it the remedy for too much static in your house? :daisy: :daisy: :daisy:
Humidifier... Or if you don't want to buy something keep a kettle of steaming water on the stove... Just don't let it boil dry.
