Theres no way I could live in a dorm. Much respect for putting up with that. Apartments do suck, unless you get bungalow or loft style. But it seems inevitable I will be in one for now.
i hate living in an apartment. the other day we got another noise violation. it was like "we have warned you. turn down the bass, and do not play bongo drums at 4 am. your neighbor said their picture literally fell off of the wall."
i think that was a totally ok thing for you to do. you couldn't sleep, and you needed to let them know that they were bothering you. but maybe they didn't know they were being so loud, so you let them know, without interrupting and embarrassing them. if it were me doing the dirty and being too loud, that's how i'd want to be notified that it was too loud.
haha fo real. all our friends who were over during the "bongo" (actually djembe) playing were thoroughly entertained by our notice. we were definitely way too loud.....
Next time you see that neighbor, ask them if they want to come up for the 3 am drum circle next tuesday
write a song sing it really loud "OH WHICH OF MY NEIGHBORS DOESN'T LIKE THE NOISE! COME OVER FOR DINNER" or something?
i think u was pretty gentle about it,, i would run upstairs, then told theme to let me in or stop right away :cheers2:
I would have just ignored it... I never lived in a dorm, but when I lived at my old apartment, the woman next to me would have sex so loud she would beat on the wall, I guess I found it funny and would laugh each time, even though it woke me up or kept me up, I couldn't help not to laugh, I mean she was having crazy ass loud sex, I had to laugh, couldn't refrain myself.. Sure it would wake me up and I'd be like "wtf" but man, it was quite a funny experience really.. I don't know if it's a dick move or not, it's really over with so I wouldn't worry about it..If it bothers you so much maybe have a chat with the person, I dunno...
