I feared of facing not being heterosexual which is the easy, preferable path if one can chose (I now fully accept my bisexuality and I am kind of proud about it). The reason I am telling all of this, is because I see a lot of stories about men finding out they are bi later in life, so I was curious. Did you always know ? If so, did you have a similar experience of clearly knowing it but hiding your head into the sand because you were not ready to fully accept it ? Did you find it out much later ? If so, did you never fantasise about men, have crush on men or anything before ? What are your experiences with all of this ?
I didn't know about being bi... but I got introduced to it so there was no... prior awareness on my part other than being told and taught that boys do not have sex with boys - and I'd better not have sex with boys. It would do my heart a lot of good to help them pull their heads out of the sand, not necessarily to take the plunge to have sex, but to accept that this is how they feel about men and women and it's perfectly okay to feel the way they do and, importantly, to let them know that they are not alone in how they feel. While some men get older and wind up in sexless relationships and this is the impetus to give sex with men a try, I've known a lot of guys who've gotten older and it was... just their time to discover bisexuality and almost like a delayed reaction; for some, their new thoughts and feelings made perfectly good sense while for others, oh my, so much confusion because I don't think there are many guys who go through the majority of their life being heterosexual who don't get totally confused to find themselves being more bisexual. I found out about it right out of the gate and early in life; no regrets about it at all but it's given me the unique perspective to have seen other guys become bisexual and the many reasons why they do - and, yeah, being of a mind to not want to watch them struggle with trying to make sense of these crazy and very forbidden feeling that very much feels like being gay... but really isn't and, yeah, being in denial while really knowing the new truth about themselves.
