I've been in and out of therapy for 10 years and on tablets that I've stopped taking because they didn't help so I'm desperate for something that helps I'm looking for any idears

Has anyone found anything that works for them

    For example
    Meditation
    Drugs
    Alternative ways of living
    Travling
    Anything!

    even if it sounds stupid
if it's helped I really want to know

Psychedelic drugs helped me in some significant ways. They didn't make my depression or anxiety go away but they helped me to find the beauty and hope that have allowed me to keep going when times are bad. Psychedelics are of course very powerful and very personal, and they can make things worse as well, so I never either encourage nor discourage people from trying that approach. It can be an especially bad idea if you are inclined towards paranoid thoughts as psychedelics can enhance paranoia to the extreme.

Meditation helps too, as it stops me from engaging in spirals of self fulfilling thoughts. For me meditation is simply taking a few minutes to pause, not trying not to think, but not engaging my thoughts either. I find that my emotional attachment to my thoughts decreases when I do this. And that helps me get on with my life.

Getting enough sleep and exercise are important too. Strenuous activity can be rewarding in many ways.

I have never been fond of psychiatric medication so I went to a therapist that specialized in cognitive behavioral therapy (though medication does work for some people. But the problem is that psychology and psychiatry are both very immature fields of science. We just don't know that much about the brain yet). She actually stated right at the beginning that for her drugs were a last resort for severe situations. In case you are not familiar cognitive behavioral therapy is about identifying illogical thought processes and learning how to change them. I found it to be very effective. You might want to try looking for that type of therapist if you haven't before.

Lastly, try to enjoy the little things. I know it's hard especially if you are suffering from anhedonia but I find things like singing in the shower, noticing the way the light plays on the ice on my windshield in the morning, etc to be helpful as well.

    Depression sucks doesn't it?

Yes, I suffered from depression for years. I got in an auto collision and friends told me about this permenent cure for back pain called MyBodyzBetter.com. I went up and bought it because I was desparate and my friends (2 of them) raved about the results. At $400 for 24 parts, not cheap but really seemed reasonable. It is the most underpriced thing I have ever done.

So the back pain went after the 3rd movement. It is two different programs, one is movement to correct posture inside your brain. The people who developed this are brain scientists, not "back specialist," and they think Your Brain Controls Your Body, which is really obvious.

What stunned me was my husband noticed I seemed I was in a better mood, ALL THE TIME! At first, I thought well yeah the back pain is gone, but months went by and I noticed I did not get depressed at all.

The main developer is a neuroscientist and clinical hypnotherapist. The second program is a kind of hypnosis, which I have done, so this is quite different. I do know that a few of my friends who had perfectly good backs did this because they suffered from depression. Three got the same results I did and 2 others got some relief, but not a "total cure". They wrote the company and I know the scientist worked with them directly over Skype. Not cheap, but not expensive I think near $450 or so for 4 sessions that were one hour long.

    So, MyBodyzBetter.com

I'd give that a try. The last two friends were on two types of psyche meds and are now off them, and depression free, also one is 60 lbs lighter! And I look both younger and thinner as well, which I would take over anything, but we girls know you boys are so visual! LOL

I had to think about this for a minute because it was a mix of many things but I think overall it was practicing mindfulness. At the end of my depression I started doing everything very purposely - for even the smallest actions throughout the day I would think, will this make me feel sad or guilty or unhealthy in any way, or will it bring me peace?

I used it at first to quell bad habits then as my strength and motivation came back to introduce new, healthy habits.

Contrary to the popular belief that all cures come in the form of a pill, I believe most if not all depression is situational....

Diagnose the situation, then change the situation and the depression will go away.

If you been in and out therapy, then use that money now to move to a whole knew playing field.

Also get used to depression, it comes with life if you let it in.

Unless you dealing with a serious critical illness, just get real with your-selF. Could be worse if you look at shit around the world.

If you a guy near a girl just talking, say 'I'm horny don't you waste my time.' Works great to get out of, or....

Or take a trip South America and get a real guided psychedelic natural trip to open your conscious awakening ( invite me also plz)
