This evening, I'm headed out on the road to tag along on a business trip/vacation to Denver until Sunday. I'm so excited! My kiddos are spending the week with their grandparents (it's going to be so hard to leave them, but they're excited too), and we have a fun filled week planned. Drunken bingo with awesome friends, MxPx concert, house party at a dear friend's place, Avs game, ice skating, night time horse drawn carriage ride, and a super bowl party. Of course, I'll also be taking part in that Rocky Mountain high. :sifone: Also, since I'll be missing my practices, I get to do two visitor practices with the 5th highest ranking derby team in the world! WOOHOO!

Who else has a fun trip coming up soon?

Can I call you sweetheart or even baby doll? If I had your number you'd be getting a phone call. Can I leave a message on your machine? Letting you know that you're the bomb and you blew up on me....all from memory :D I saw MxPx back in the day. It's probably been at least 10 years. I think they opened for someone else but I can't remember who. Sounds like you are going to have lots of fun.

Next road trip for me is Chicago next month. I go there so often I don't even consider it a vacation. I love Chi-town. I'm going to see Dropkick Murphys. I see them every year for their St Pattys Day tour. The girls and I will go out one night and have some drinks and I'm sure wicked awesome fun will ensue. I'll be missing an awesome show at home with one of my favorite hf buddies though :( I'm disappointed about that. Could have been the highlight of my year seeing a certain performance.

Mama and Ruby, sounds like you both are going to have a good time, I hope you both have lots of fun.

My next road trip is just a business trip:( - a SERC conference in April. I will probably be doing homework when I'm not at the conference during the day. Loads of fun, eh?

Are you anxious to see eee meeee after your next class? Do you get what I tell you? Step around that broken glass. Can I see you after you get out school? I won't even mind it if you treat me cruel. Take a ride on my Vespa, I'll take you home. I'll climb up to your window, and read you a poem.

Haha! I've been obsessed with those boys for years. I've seen them several times, and they always put on an amazing show.

Have fun on your trip to chi-town! Take lots of pics. I'll be waiting for awesome stories.

    Oh... >.>

Well, the dude has business meetings and such Wednesday and Thursday, but other than that we're free to run the city. Take advantage of your trip, and have some fun!

I enjoyed them but the Christian aspect of their music always threw me for a loop. They were always right on the cusp of bands I really liked. I wouldn't have paid to just see them but when I saw they were an opening band I was excited. I was right up in front for that show. I went by myself but I can't for the life of me remember who they opened for. Oh well. Doesn't matter.

If you're lucky maybe you'll get some drunk ruby texts from Chicago. :D You know you love those! Haha Last time I got REALLY drunk I was in Chicago. It goes down as the best trip to Chicago ever and one of the most fun nights of my life. Let's just say it took me 6 weeks and quite a few chiropractor appointments to recover from that weekend. I went to see Rise Against on that trip. 3 of us racked up a $165 bar bill at one place before going to a 2nd place to drink god knows how much more. Good times! This time won't be quite as crazy because of one of the girls going but I'll make sure it's fun!

Yeah, that doesn't really bother me about them. Good music is good music. I don't care what god they worship. They don't incorporate it much into their music anyway, so I don't notice it much. Yay for drunk ruby texts!! I need your number again anyway. My phone ate it.

Pardon me while I swoon hardcore over Mikey H.

    Edit: wrong link

    Thanks!

Where will you be going? Make sure you have a little bit of fun!

I get to tag along for a business trip to San Diego in March/April. 6 day trip, 2 days of business for him. We're going to a Padres/Dodgers game to see my boyfriend Brian Wilson. I love that bearded beast! We'll hit up the beach for a minute. Who knows what else we'll do. Maybe meet up with another friend from here. We'll see.

Yeah it's not super christian. I'll give them that. I don't care what god anybody worships. I just don't love "Christian music". It makes me homicidal. There is actually another Irish punk band I like that is borderline Christian. They are strong in their beliefs and it shows in their music a little bit. They are Flatfoot 56. They are pretty awesome. I would post a song bit I'm on my phone.

Holy shit! You know who they are? You are the first person I've ever talked to that has heard of them. I got one of my friends stuck in their mosh pit one time. She almost shit her pants. Same show we were in the middle of a circle pit. It was awesome! It was so funny. I looked at her with a huge smile and said "welcome to punk rock"

The last one I survived was Dropkick Murphys and Rise Against when they were both at Riot Fest in 2012. The best way to describe a DKM pit is you survive it. Hahaha. By the time Rise Against came on we were just smashed at the front. DKM we were in the pit.

We got to our hotel last night, and I was wearing my "I like big bouts and I cannot lie" shirt. The lady at the front desk asked me what that meant, and I told her it was a roller derby reference. She replied, "oooh giiiiiiirl that's fierce! I've never met a derby girl before! Imma upgrade you to a two room suite."

    HELLS YEAH.

back roads are what vehicles are for. some day i may get one. after i've taken care of everything i'm interested in i wouldn't be able to afford, if i had one to look after.

i'd rather ride around on a train or a bus.

they could be less expensive and go more places too.
