No doubt. That was a blast. Leftover Salmon reigned supreme as expected. In particular, I have never seen Sam Bush so 'on fire' as he was w/ Leftover. When Vince said "Thanks. Run like hell, I knew the sht was about to hit the fan. The wife and I made it from the front row to the RV in record time :)

    Best Performances:
    1. Leftover Salmon
    2. Dark Star
    3. Keller & the Keels
    4. Yonder Mountain
    5. Michael Franti & Spearhead

No love for Ratdog. When you forget the words to 2 of Jerry's songs...you go way down on my list. If you don't know the words to Casey Jones...you live in a cave. if you're a Grateful Dead band member and you don't know the words to Casey Jones...you find yourself WAY down on my list.
They played well, and the guy in the next RV over said that they were 100 times better than when he saw them a year ot two ago. I am seeing Ratdog with the Allman Brothers in a couple weeks. I will report back here :)

Bob blowing the words is a stage joke.
grow a sense of irreverence & it is muuuuuch easier to take.

On the doggie songs, were these pieces Bobby usually sings or would Mark sing them? He's busy waking up to cancer (see the music thread under GD/Phish) and convincing the messenger to move along.

    but blowing Truckin' is standard.

I saw over 30 dead shows back in the day. So I have watched Jerry forget the words countless times. Trust me, I am familiar w/ blown lyrics and normally don't sweat it. HOWEVER, If you can't remember the words to a song Jerry sang...then you shouldn't be singing it. Period, end of story. It was a disgrace, and very embarrasing for the 10,000 that were watching.
He forgot the entire 2nd verse, and most of the third. It was a disaster. I have never seen it happen to that extent, even at a dead show. They almost had to stop the song...it was fugly!!!

Good point, and I don't know the answer. The song in question was Casey Joney though. It happened twice, but the 2nd time was just the usual forgot a line or two...no biggie...type thing.

Anyhow, they played well enough...I give them credit for having gotten better. And I have only 3 more weeks to wait until I see them open for the Allman Brothers. Can't wait.

Hey Bobby, if you can read this, here ya go:
Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey jones is ready, watch your speed.
    Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.

This old engine makes it on time,
Leaves central station bout a quarter to nine,
Hits river junction at seventeen to,
At a quarter to ten you know its travlin again.

Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey jones is ready, watch your speed.
    Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.

    Trouble ahead, lady in red,
Take my advice youd be better off dead.
Switchmans sleeping, train hundred and two is
On the wrong track and headed for you.

Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey jones is ready, watch your speed.
    Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.

Trouble with you is the trouble with me,
Got two good eyes but you still dont see.
Come round the bend, you know its the end,
The fireman screams and the engine just gleams...

i thought michael franti on the ropeadope stage was AMAZINNN'. My first time seein' him--it was really great. Both performances.. but I really loved seein' him on the small, ropeadope stage with the perfect amount audience.
    yay for michael franti! :)
everything was really amazing as well.
I'm so glad All Good was my first fest! woohoo.
