First of all, I've never cared for this guy. He spouts on about looming disaster, to sell disaster supplies for greedy prepping vendors. As varied as I am I can only do about 5 minutes of him before it's time to move on to someone on the opposite side maybe.

However, I think singling him out as well as the "shadow banning that has been alleged is a potential indicator for a very dark time approaching. And consider the angle the news seems to be pushing aside; this single event has put on full display the absolute power these companies actually have.

I realized when YouTube started demonetizing people like Diamond & Silk that it's possible to be seriously exposed when you rely so much on a free service. What will be interesting to watch is how far squishing the bug that is Alex Jones will go. Will InfoWars.com be pulled down?

This is where I think a lot of people need to step the fuck back. When I get sick of Alex Jones, I click the red box with the white X in the upper right corner. And like magic, Alex Jones is gone. Trying to silence him as these corporations are doing is troubling. So be really careful if you want to cheer for this. Using the same formula could mean a site like Hip Forums could be marked as "offensive" by some assholes.

And poof, no more haven for hippies.

Corporations have a perfect right to support anyone they wish, or to withdrawal that support.
Private companies are not the government. Meda outlets in the U.S. have a history dating back to before the revolution of supporting or rejecting whomever they wish.
Do some research on the newspapers in Ben Franklin's days.

The internet is a big place, he is free to go elsewhere.

YouTube removed Jones' videos for violating its policies regarding child endangerment and hate speech. Facebook did the same thing, saying that Jones uses speech that glorifies violence (a violation of Facebook's graphic violence policy) and uses dehumanizing language to describe transgender people, Muslims and immigrants (a violation of Facebook's hate speech policy.) If I ever decide to use those two platforms to spread a message I assume I'd also have to abide by their rules. Jones is certainly no fucking exception.

Jones has spread the message that the Sandy Hook shootings are a part of some conspiracy, the Moon landings were fake and that the government was involved in 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing. And he has every right to say those things; as stupid as those assertions are they are protected speech and no one can legally stop him. But no one is under any obligation to help him spread his notions either. If I owned a newspaper (a small, hometown paper, of course) and he mailed in a letter to the editor to be printed in my paper, and it was full of bullshit, I would read it exactly once and throw it in the trash can. That's my right.

A lot of people are moving to Steemit.com backed by block chain technology as they anticipate more censorship.

Exactly. No one is required to give him a platform. He has his own platform, he has a website, he can babble on a street corner if he wants....but private companies cant be forced to provide a platform for him.

If word gets out that Verizon is listening to private conversations they soon won't have any customers.

It is a free speech forum. That's why none of us are censored by the government, and it is also precisley why the owners of this website are free to promote or censor whatever speech they want.

First they came for Alex Jones... I didn't like Alex Jones so I did nothing

Then they came for every alternate media platform. I wasn't part of the alt-media, so I did nothing.

Then they came for me. And there was no one left to speak for me.

It's people like Alex Jones who actually help make the case for more restrictions on free speech.

His site may still be up. But without the Silicone Valley internet oligopoly allowing him a platform, he’s at a significant disadvantage compared to other news sources (like TYT who gets free YouTube endorsements)

I’ve always hated the mainstream media. But I stopped listening to Alex jones a couple years ago because his rabid personality and his shameless lying really annoyed me.

Now that they’ve gotten rid of his podcasts, his YouTube and Facebook. There’s obviously something about him the establishment doesn’t want us to hear about. Pushing Jones out of the limelight, is only going to prompt people like me to listen to him all over again.

    Damn you Silicone Valley

My guess are the people behind the scenes, you know those folks who decide the price of oil each year, what’s fashionable and trendy and what isn’t, what movies
or tv shows will be successful, what country will experience a catastrophic earthquake or hurricane, who lives and who dies - you know those folks...lol..

    Thank you

Censorship is the establishment left’s go-to solution when they encounter an argument they can’t refute
