I have a Beeman with a .177 and a .22 barrel. I have never been able to get the scope zeroed in, so I have it hoisted up in the foyer with a trigger lock. It's a decoy for any wouldbe gun thief who manages to break in. It also serves as a warning to anyone who comes to the front door unannounced. It looks menacing enough.

I figure it will be a good thing to have after the shit hits the fan. I can still shoot it quite well using the regular sights. It won't bring down a deer, but I'll survive just fine on rabbits and squirrels.

I wear Skamania waterproof boots from Hi-Tec. My only gripe is that I have to wear 2 pairs of socks or my toes get beat up going back down the mountain. I hiked up Kennesaw a few weeks ago and have a freakin hematoma on one of my toes now. Up was easy, down was a major pain.

 

If the problem is just in the front with the toes I would try losing the second pair and stuff something in the front. Like some pieces of old newspaper or something.

 

The socks work, I just forgot to carry the extra pair of woolies up this last time. We were having an Indian Summer, so I didn't see the need.

You could also just like, buy the correct fitting boots too that might work.
