Engineers are not to be underestimated when it comes to clever thinking. They have basically reverse engineered a lie detector, to instead give you the likely intent of the lie. Although you can buy a cellphone with a built in lie detector, they're not popular, while this approach means you can combine fact checkers and lie detectors to leverage the strengths of both and give even Google Search a run for their money. This is exactly the kind of technology that I'm hoping can save us from our own collective stupidity and fits in nicely with the next generation internet which includes distributed computing.

Already Google is working on an AI that can turn the vitriol online up and down on command, rewriting everything. Using this approach you can tweak the AI to the individual's taste, and give them whatever they want to hear. You can lie to the AI itself all you want, and it will just figure out why you are lying to it.

A ten year cross disciplinary study declared the I-Ching word perfect and complete for introspective purposes, while this kind of AI technology will empower the I-Ching to become interactive. As it is now, you roll the dice and take your chances on getting the right answer out of 64 possibilities, but an AI with a lie detector could use fuzzy logic and familiarity with the individual to give them exactly what they need to hear just about every time. The wisdom of Solomon in a can, but the same AI can be used or abused by the individual, on the assumption that all roads inevitably lead back to Rome and the AI can be your own Jimmi Cricket.

Can this technology tell a liar from someone who emotionally gives off all of the signals of a liar through their own nerves?

Roughly one in two hundred people is basically a walking lie detector with 95% accuracy and you can already buy lie detectors that are more accurate than the polygraphs used in courtrooms. The machines don't usually care so much about your body language, and being able to think differently than people is what makes it possible for them to do what people can, without having the equivalent of a human brain.

You can already buy a cellphone with a lie detector in it, but nobody wants them. This is one of those technologies that will no doubt require the "Fax Effect" to catch on. When computer printers first became cheap every business in the world suddenly adopted the use of fax machines and what was a novelty became a required piece of hardware. Once you cannot tell who is a bot and who is real, the issue remains how can you trust anything you hear? With bots being consistently more helpful than people, they will gain more trust than people and, hopefully, inspire a great deal more emphasis on being authentically ourselves.

Bots are great, but a substitute for people they are not, unless your culture just doesn't value people. In which case, the bots will encourage them to ignore each other more until they become a dead culture.

Everything evolves, because everything obeys the metaethics of instant karma. Deny it all you want at your own risk, because even our technology is beginning to take on a life of its own, and nobody can ever tell me karma isn't a bitch!

Our universe is metaphorical and paradoxical, meaning anything is possible. I have a friend of mine who insists angels visited him once and, despite being agnostic myself, I believe him because I believe the universe itself is magical and self-organizing. Sort of a nursery for conscious life, that has isolated humanity thus far from the rest of the universe, as being far too immature. However, all that is about to start to change. Its the ancient Chinese blessing and curse.

I'm writing a book on the subject and, according to the best I can determine, next year will blow everybody's mind.

Academics don't think so, because it means they have to examine their own worst lowbrow slapstick in exacting mathematical detail.

Nah, the evidence has been piling up for over a century, but nobody wants to go there. Its a self-organizing singularity, which means the truth can't come out until its time has arrived anyway. Think of it as similar to a pot of water having to first bubble a lot before coming to a complete boil or going through puberty. Its counterproductive to attempt to mature or come to a boil before their time. Eight billion people is a lot of karma to sort out before the crap hits the fan, and the idea we always have a choice about these things is laughable.

The US government has classified a few jokes as vital to the national defense, and the Chinese government has forbidden the use of time travel as a plot device in their mass media. They can't keep it up forever, but they've know since Vietnam that this is coming and have been censoring everything heavily.

The Wisdom of Collective Ignorance: Know.. | WritersCafe.org | The Online Writing Community

Its about kick starting the next scientific revolution within the public domain. Academics won't go there, but my tradition is 12,000 years old, and we never met an academic we couldn't poke fun at. The chapter on Bullshit Fuzzy Logic covers the basic physics, philosophy, sociology, etc. and the one on Disturbingly Disruptive Collective Ignorance covers the metaethics and automation.

However, the poetry is the real focus of the book.

Lie detectors are bullshit and inadmissible in any sensible court.
