Consent is when a person is ready - we are all different and do we really need laws to tell us how to be human?
I break laws, i really dont think having laws stops people from doing what they wanna do-
Having sex with children any age is wrong, at puberty your body is ready your head maybe not! You know when u get the vibe ;)

I figure you're probably picturing me as some 50 year old pedo, I'm only 21.

The point is, I've been around 18 year olds, and I've been one. Some can be really level headed and mature, some can be really "go with the flow" and immature. It was the same deal around the age of 15. 18 year olds make plenty of mistakes when it comes to sex, and believe it or not, so do 15 year olds. Legal or not, many loose their virginity around 15, or earlier. Your daughter probably will, and you won't ever even know it.

i'm more than sure that would make any NAMBLA member's day. as far as sex ed classes go, i was recieving them in the 4th grade back in the 80s. lack of sex ed classes or abundance of such courses does not lower teen pregnancies either way. by this logic one could justify doing away with laws against murder or rape..........because people will do what they want regardless. i'm sorry, but i meet too many people out there young and old who really aren;t that emotionally mature enough to understand the consequences of sex.

    [

QUOTE=sobebella;6484914]i say compleatly get rid of AOC and give some REAL sex ed, this stuff we got going now is just bs, it teaches nothing. i think we should have a good sex ed program that teaches what happens when you dont take sex seriously but show that it is a good, beautiful thing.

restrictions will not stop people, if anything its only more tempting, this is human nature.[/QUOTE]

I think it's completely fucking ridiculous to have a law that more than 25% of people break (like AOC=16), much less one that MOST people break (like AOC=17), or one that the vast majority breaks (like AOC=18). Put the age of consent at 14 with a 4 year gap allowed, expanding to full consent when they're legally able to wield a 4000 lb death machine and sign binding contracts, age 16. Totally preposterous to let someone sign a contract but not fuck. Or drink or buy cigarettes, for that matter. Lower the porn age to 16, too, both buying and starring, with graduated penalties for breaking age of consent and child pornography laws according to the age of the victim, so it's a misdemeanor for first offenses above age 14, with a severity rider kicking it back up to a felony for people abusing positions of authority. The way we currently treat high school seniors sending titty pictures to each other the exact same as goddamn pedo camp counselors taking naked pictures of 9 year olds is a gross perversion of justice. 17 year olds going door to door telling people they're fucking sex offenders for sending their girlfriend a dick pic. Disgusting.

I remember being a high school student well. I was not a fucking kid-- I had a better sense of right and wrong and healthy behavior at 13 than most adults do their entire lives. But then, I wasn't coddled and kept in the dark about the world until I was old enough to start masturbating, either. I was outside in the woods, I was wandering through town, I was taught what was up about sex and drugs by my parents as soon as I was asking about it, all well before age 10. And I'm a hell of a lot better off having had that freedom and trust, and I didn't get into casual sex and drugs until I was done with college, in part because of that healthy, independent, fact-based upbringing.

100 years ago and in most families on earth even today, it's totally normal to be married and pursuing your career by 14. Humans are no different here, just the fucked up way we raise our children. Yeah, modern society's changed, but the fact is that kids today have more information about sex and drugs available than they ever did, and we know intellectually that both are vastly less harmful even for high school students than we were led to believe by the Christian nutjobs who created these laws, yet we constantly freak out about protecting the 'children', as if a 16 year old were more similar to a 10 year old than to a 22 year old. We lock them inside, never leave them unsupervised. I've seen high school students having baby sitters! I mean, as early as the first few seasons of the Simpsons, 20 years ago, it was only a year or two early for 9(!) year old Lisa Simpson to be baby sitting! The whole thing's preposterous, and it's not backed up by science, and it's both unjust and inhumane, and it's ruining an entire generation, even as crime is lower than it has ever been and your children are safer than any generation in history. And quite frankly, your kids are gonna be fucking regardless of what you make the laws say. And so fucking what? Big fucking deal. We did it and turned out fine, just like every single generation before us since the dawn of man.

And for any immature little knob goblins out there, no, I don't fuck high school girls.

You're just a pervert who wants to have sex with a little 15 year-old girl. Oh, wait, so am I.

OK OK, sorry, that was a joke! Relax, y'all. HAHA

I think 18 is fine, but I wouldn't have a problem with 16. Some places are 16 already. RI, maybe. HI was 14 back in the day until 2001.

The age of consent and the age of maturity are different. Federal law states 18 is the age of maturity you are now a legal adult. The age of consent varies from state to state. In MO. The age of maturity is 17. You can move out of your parents house have sex with persons over 21 and be charged as an adult for crimes and go to adult jails.. Now the parent is still legally responsible for you until your 18th birthday by federal statute. Where its a bit more confusing is age of consent. MO. Law says the age of consent is 14 with persons under 21. So with that a 20 year old and a 14 year old can have consensual sex and there is no crime.. I work in law enforcement and a lot of parents get very upset when you explain why there's nothing you can do about a 14 year old with a 19 or 20 year old..

this makes no sense whatsoever. where is your evidence for your first claim? and the comparison you make is illogical.

I'd like to see some numbers on how many teens this effects with legal issues in the courts. I could see 16 if the one is older. but if they are both younger i'd let it go to 14.

examples (16yr old bangs 19yr old OK) (19yr old bangs 15yr old NOT OK) (15yr bangs 14yr old OK) <-- not really, but it happens... I can't see ruining a kids life cause he played i'll show you mine if you show me yours with his younger GF/BF...

Under 14? where in the hell are the parents? then they should be held accountable.

    Yeah but isn't 16 within 4 years until 18?

    I'm pretty sure a 22 year old can't have a 16/17 year old boyfriend/girlfriend.

But if you ask me, I'd keep it just the way it is in PA.. to me when I see that people are given the ability to fuck whoever they want, I'm not trying to see 34 year old pedophiles and their 14 year old girlfriends, ya know?

Age of consent has nothing to do with when people are going to be single moms.
People are going to have sex either way, and that law only applies to people who are older or whatever, but two 15 year olds are still gonna go at it.

You saved me righting it. I think sixteen is fine here, as that is the age of consent

but so long as it's all age appropriate between each party.

I say 18.. even more 20. I think men.. some men are making societycrap for little girls. Such as that example OP 15 and 18. Fuck no. 17, 18 ok. But anything before 18 shouldnt even be 2 years apart. Then we have those fucked up men going for 16 y/os ughhh that gives me the creeps. When I was 15... I remembered so many guys in their 40s actually gave me comments and did gross actions towards me. I wasnt dressed wrong, nor did I look like a "catch" at 15.. it disgustens me. I always called them pedophiles when they would say something - that always made them get away. I can see how somefucked up men could brain-wash a younger female, they dont have guidance, nor any real dating exp - how would they understand the difference?

Where I live it is 16. It used to be 14, then back to 16. It should 18. I hear some men in their late 20s at like clubs talking about "highschool" girls and that just scares me. I mean you;re almost 30, look for a girl 20 up. Eughhh

I don't know how much of a factor maturity is. Their are some people in their 40's that are immature. As long as it's consensual and wanted by both parties it should be okay.
