Against Hawaii SB2450 aimed at killing feral cats "by any means" There’s a petition here: https://www.change.org/p/clarence-nishihara-glenn-wakai-immediately-put-an-end-to-hawaii-sb2450-aimed-at-killing-feral-cats-by-any-means?recruiter=2987580&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_facebook_responsive&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-custom_msg&fb_ref=Default#petition-letter ‘There are many responsible colony caretakers providing humane population control of the species through TNRM (trap neuter return manage) I would urge you to support these responsible colony caretakers who have been doing the county's and state’s job for them for years by taking on the personal responsibility of controlling populations. It is humans that have created the over population of cats by being irresponsible owners and dumping, abandoning and casting off owned animals to become free roaming.’ Please consider contacting senators Nishihara and Wakai to state your opposition to the plans, and to give your support to TNRM programmes and penalties for those who abandon their pets. if those caregivers were ''controlling'' the population this shit wouldnt be needed.....they obviously cannot keep up with the cat population....something must be done and y'alls plan doesnt work
Yes, thank goodness for you. I hold these animals's lives in higher regard than i do many people's...who do not regard life.
If governments would help the people who are trying to do their job for them there wouldn't be such a problem. Instead they do nothing - and then throw money at brutal schemes. Fortunately, this doesn't look like it's going to become law. Unfortunately, governments will always find supporters for brutal methods - whether it's to do with animals or the economy or with people. You can see it in the recent economic crisis/crises where economists are ignored in favour of harsh methods which have done too little to remedy the situation. People like harshness, regardless of its effectiveness.
