She's definitely talking about dark rum, most likely Bundaberg Rum from Australia and there's a ridiculous amount of sugar in it. Something like 6-7kg per litre. Over here in Australia this rum is always linked to alcohol related violence. There's just so much sugar in it and then add coke and you literally see peoples faces turn red when they drink it. My face flushes, it's my drop of choice. They've made a Bundy Bare which is no sugar cola. In high school when we were underage my quite pleasant and calm mates would just turn into different people on the stuff and try and fight and get all destructive. All it does to me is turn me horny and the missus likes the taste of my cum the day after. :D sickly sweet.

Oh God...the one kind of liquor I cannot hardly even THINK of because how much damn SUGAR it has... ugh... and hence experiences when I was younger of puking and puking... various kinds of coconut rum... or like coconut something flavored. But in any case, even if I was gonna drink something I could never go anywhere near that stuff again- think I'd puke if I smelled it.

I'm the same way with gin. I'll gag at the smell of it. Vile! One bad night on Gordon's Gin, I was told after that's like the worst gin anyway haha. I did however see my fist vagina of sorts that night as random girl went to the toilet in the bathroom while me and my mate were having a yarn in there. Didn't see any good bits but did see a landing strip, I'll take that as vagina. :D and she was dating my other mate in the next room so I snuck a peak and walked out and my mate stayed in there. Never told me what happens. :D

You know that starving feeling where you feel like throwing up? I've got that right now. :(
    What's the deal with that?

I don't know.. what did you eat today? That happens to me sometimes. In fact, it was bordering on that until 15 mins ago when the food I ordered showed up. Now I'm starting to feel extremely full. Luckily I started eating before that starving feeling makes it impossible to eat...that has happened to me before when I have gone too long without eating. (being so hungry that you feel nauseated)

Your body is used to burning sugar for energy, and you have low blood sugar. Once you reduce your carb intake (while increasing fat intake) this doesn't happen.... ever.... regardless of how long you go without eating.

I have never heard of any regular, non-flavored rum containing ridiculous amounts of sugar, since the sugar gets converted to alcohol in the fermentation process. The only rums I know of which contain sugar are flavored and thus have sugar added to them. Rum in its natural state does not contain any sugar.

Hmm interesting. Seems to be quite a few Aussies on google asking the same thing in other forums and like I said, bar tenders tend to agree that the trouble makers frequently drink Bundy and Southern Comfort. It may be an old wives tale, the sugar content.
I won't feel as bad for drinking it anymore. Thank you!

Oh and I hadn't had anything to eat for like 14 hours or so, well half a bucket of popcorn at the movies. :D
Not the way to kick start my metabolism though. I've got a week off work next week and plan to go for light jogs and continue my walking. I've got some back problems that generally flare up if I try and jog/run but hopefully I won't have the attitude of "fuck let's just get it done" because there's no time limit on a week off. 9 days, non paid... And I'm so excited! First break in 18months.

While rum does not contain sugar, it does contain carbs from alcohol, which are then converted to sugar (glucose) in the body once ingested. This is why alcohol is not conducive to weight loss. It's just that some alcoholic beverages are worse offenders than others.
