Do you handwash or use a dishwasher? I have a dishwasher. I dont run it every day but i at least rinse the dishes i use each day and put them inthe dishwasher then run it when it is full. I am slightly ocd, if i left dirty dishes in the sink it would give me anxiety and i wouldnt be able to sleep lol. That is one thing i always do after dinner, no matter how tired i am - dishes, wipe the counters, do a quick sweep of the kitchen floor
I try not to eat too much. If I've cooked my dinner, which is almost always the case when I'm at home alone, I clean up, load the dishwasher. Then I will have a glass of red wine, sometimes (often) smoke some herb, and then if I have some energy, I will practice my mandolin playing. If no energy, I will watch TV. Sometimes, I will play a computer game.
This is why I usually don't eat anything much during the day. Eating a meal zaps me for several little whiles.
Dishes always get washed by hand immediately after use, except night time snacks. We have a very nice dish washer but seldom use it, once or twice a year. You have to rinse the dishes anyway, so we just use a scrubber something like this and put them in the drying rack, then put them away in an hour or so. All you're doing is removing the mechanical waste from the dishes when you wash by hand or in a dishwasher. You need an autoclave to kill germs by heat. So why use a dishwasher?
Sleep. It's horrible, I know. But, my body gets achy and I get super tired after eating. Drinking is fine, though. So, lately I have been eating by drinking. Then I eat a very small meal right before bed, so sleeping afterwards isn't too bad. I leave the dishes for the morning, before I eat anything. My mom hates when I do that, so sometimes she cleans the dishes for me. But, I hate when she cleans the dishes for me. She is ancient. She doesn't need to be doing that. I really need to buy a cookbook on good smoothie recipes. I'm really considering just living off smoothies. Sounds horrible, but anything solid just makes my stomach, and whole body hurt. So, I really just leave food to the night, when I have to go to bed, or I don't eat at all. Right now, I've been drinking a lot of tea, kombucha, fruit water (not homemade), water with MSM powder, and soda (I know, bad. But, it fills me up). Oh, and coconut milk or almond milk. If I drink all beverages in one day I really don't have to eat. Or if I do eat, ir's a small bowl or plate of something before bed. I can eat cake, without my stomach or whole body hurting. I guess it's becuase it's such a soft food. So, I might throw in some soft foods, but I rather just drink. I know you can live off of smoothies. Right? Isn't there a diet, lifestyle... like that? No? Okay, whatever. But, I still want a good cookbook on recipes, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
actually you shouldnt rinse your dishes off before putting them into the dishwasher. dishwasher has a sensor to tell how dirty the water is. if you prewash them before the DW then the sensor thinks they are clean and shortens the cycle and they come out dirty, meaning you need to rinse them again, when you just did that before hand, in the DW and after hand. major waste of energy and water..
If i dont pre rinse my dishes come out of the dishwasher with tiny bits of food still on them. But i rinse immediately after eating, just a very quick rinse is all it takes so it doesnt take much time, energy, or water
I Try To Always Eat On The Back Veranda Summer And Winter, So After Finishing Dinner I Sit Back With A Glass Of Wine And Enjoy The Company Of My Cats And Wild Birds. Plates, Glasses And Cats All Go In The Dishwasher........ Cheers Glen.
