Are you supposed to be able to do anything after dinner? I'm so full that I don't want to move. I didn't overeat; eating just makes me feel so full. I know this feeling will pass in a little while but, right now, the thoughts of doing anything are not happy thoughts. I want to prop up and go to sleep. What do you do after dinner?
Leisure time after dinner is mostly a distant memory for me. I get home around 7 on weekdays, rush to get dinner ready amd served by 8, then more rushing to get the little one in bed by 9. A few nights a week i am so exhausted by all this i fall into a coma on the couch (currenty in coma mode now actually) and a few nights a week i might actually feel motivated enough to exercise or putter around the house and do whatever strikes my fancy. Mostly though, coma.
Good! It's not just me. This evening, I ended up walking the dogs and then going to the store. Now, it's veg out time unless a burst of energy hits me.
Short of feeling bloated like some people , the night is young, there are movies and shows, sporting events, an evening drive, a walk on the beach, weekly card game, visiting friends or relatives, ….with that said, I had so much to eat today while cheering on the runners at the marathon I didn’t have dinner Hotwater
I am not big into sweets. I prefer savory things. I'd rather have two dinners and no dessert, than dinner and dessert. Every once in a while, though, i get a hankering for ice cream with graham crackers on top.
I try to eat lightly at all times...I hate that full feeling.....except at Thanksgiving I love turkey. After diner, dishes, CBS news somethings at 6:30, computer game or check this place out, sit on back deck, stuff like that. I get sleepy after lunch....especially if I have to drive. I hate eating lunch out, usually because the food usually sucks, and you get too much. Then I get sleepy. ...and it cost too much also.
Everything! I try not to eat after 5. And I go to sleep very late. So yeah...I do a lot of stuff after dinner.
same thing i was doing before or during. if i'm eating at home, which for evening or late night that's where i am, well the only place i have to eat, is either standing by where i cook, is in front of the computer. well i usually try to do something other then lay down and go to sleep. like get up, walk across the room, read a book, let the water run to get hot to do the dishes, and shave for the next day. THEN lay down and go to sleep (or get back on the computer if i'm still too wide awake.)
I love sweets at times but I don't need a dessert after every meal. I rather indulge in something tasty a few hours later. But when I'm having dinner somewhere else and there's dessert (usually the case) I rarely decline :-D Still Fallout 3? I noticed you mentioned that somewhere on here a while ago. Was wondering how long you've been playing that one (as it's a few years old already). It's on my list to get as well, I got Fallout 4 a few months ago (not far into it, got some other great games as well). Since I got a console last november I am playing a computer game in the evening more often again as well. Love playing through a great storyline and setting.
Mostly listen to music, have a drink and a smoke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlmORqMze-0 I seem to have a phobia about doing the dishes. I wonder if there is an official medical term for it, like arachnophobia.
I almost always save the dishes for another day. Usually do the dishes like twice a week. Put some music on and there we go! Much better than washing them right away after every dinner imo. Saves cleaning supplies too
No, that disk is sitting here on my desk beside me. I've played that thing about four times already. Got it for free from one of my sons. Now I'm into Stronghold 2 which I picked up at a GoodWill along with Stronghold Legends, Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold etc. All came together on one of two disks. I've always been a Stronghold fan ever since it came out and I've played it numerous times. I haven't really figured out how to buy games on the net, so screw it. I'm still used to getting beta and cracked games for free for the C64, old habits ya know.
I usually eat dinner very late, between 7:00-8:00, depending on the day. So, I've usually accomplished everything important that I would like to do by that point. But I don't usually overeat to the point that I am tired or sluggish after food, so I might do some cleaning, prepare for the next day, go for a walk, shower, log on to the HF. Actually, I am usually pretty energized after a meal, so I've never had that association that OP is talking about.
