This youtube video (and those following) is what I used to learn to make hats. I followed the instructions/pattern my first tam, but that last hat and my dreadtube were made without a pattern and with a different stitch... it's not hard, but it can take a while.

I <3 Older Chinese ladies asking me about my hair :D They are always so polite and yet so bewildered: "I've always been curious... They aren't like the homeless'." I went through the quick explanation: keep it clean, don't comb, wait, and then wait some more.

Then she asked me if they smelled and I said, "No." But then I grabbed some and took a whiff and she started laughing. I explained, "Actually, they smell a little like seawater because I went surfing in the afternoon (the day before) and I need to rinse them again." Then she told me it looks good :D

Is that a cutting board you used for the gloves?

Yuppers. $11 for the gloves and cutting board... about 15 minutes of sawing and melting. There's definately room for improvement (placement, size, and shape of the slide puck) but as far as first attempts go... it's slippy and it's slidey, so it's all gravy baby! Once I've thrashed these ones I'll just get to make more.

What, no hiding from the sexy lady man ladies?

Yea, right after making them. I found out today that trying to slide while wearing a backpack changes the equation pretty significantly.

The bitchslappin' power of a slide glove is unparalleled :D

Ohhh skating... I thought one seriously hardcore masturbation session was about to begin.
    This makes more sense.
You should try ad stick a dread out of every hole in your helmet, that'd look great.

    Naaaaaiiiiiiccceeeee ;)

I'm keen to get myself a longboard for cruising to uni and around the city when I move. I wouldn't really have a clue what to look for though.

Well, teh internuts has more clues than you can shake a dick at... I suggest looking around the forums at Silver Fish Longboarding. If you just want to cruise, pretty much any board will get the job done. I like to go fast, so I got a Belly Racer which is a stiff, speed oriented type longboard. :cheers2: get stoked
