Hi everybody , I know it says strictly for lesbians buy we're all women. I'm a 50+ woman who is pre-menopausal. I've noticed of late that while masturbating and having sex that my vagina becomes very dry and sometimes it hurts. I grew up in the KY generation when it was call surgical jelly instead of a personal lubricant.I've been looking at all the different lubes but don't know which one to choose. They all claim they are they best. Which ones would would you choose for masturbating and perhaps a little ass play (I've become very curious as of late) would you use the same for both or two different ones.
    thanks

I really can't help you there. I'm mid-forties, but still happily laying eggs and I've never had to use lube for vaginal masturbation/penetration.
For the "other place," KY is all I've ever used - it seems to do the trick!

    Hello,

To be honest I don't think it matters because I don't think there are toys involved. Please forgive if I am wrong. Cause that is when you have to worry about what lube you are using. I would suggest something that maybe sensitive to skin. Hope this helps. Cheers

Try extra virgin coconut oil. It works great for vaginal penetration and general hydration. I suffered damage after delivery of our daughter 14 years ago and have had serious trouble with dryness and lubrication since then. It's solid at room temp but melts at body temp. It absorbs into the tissue over time like lotion into skin instead of getting sticky like many lubes. It's natural, no synthetic fragrances or chemicals to irritate sensitive skin. The most significant WARNING is the it in NOT compatible with condoms. Just like any oil based lubes it will melt latex. This includes latex toys. If you are just masturbating, your fine. It works good for ass play, just remember the condom rule. It doesn't melt on the spot, but won't protect against STD or pregnancy. We use it with a silicone dildo for penetration and with vibrators for external stimulation. Latex toys are unhealthy anyways. Go silicone. The investment is worth it. Have fun!

Thanks Melesbia, and it's all natural.!Was getting my hair done a few days back and one of the women I was talking with recommended Poise. I bought some to try. It's very good and small enough to keep in your purse. I couldn't wait to try it , so I checked it out on the ride home ( I have a 45 mile mile mostly straight highway ride to work) and it was awesome. nPicked up one for home and one for me. This menopause thing has got me doing things I never would have imagined I do. thanks again.

What about hormone therapy? I'm menopausal too. My doctor was saying it could help with "symptoms". I have night sweats and irregular periods, sometimes very heavy. I think dryness is a symptom too. For me, lube is not one of them. I was also told that the antiovarian marker is so low that my egg bank has me infertile. Yeehaw!

I'm actually kind of enjoying the "new " me. I was always a little on the conservative side. My husband is also enjoying the wild side a little more. Night sweats are almost gone and so are the unexpected hot flashes. now they seem to only happen when I'm getting turned on.unless I drink too much red wine and then I'm usually ready be turned on.
    thanks

Enjoy!!! I'm ALMOST to that stage and can't wait, late 40s. Right now I'm counting down to the empty nest...6 months and counting!!! Can't wait to just be completely uninhibited...anywhere in the house!!!

You said toys are involved. Check to make sure it's a water based lubricant. Most oys tell you what is best...

As for me, for when I'm not using toys, I use the geneic lubricating jelly...it's cheap and easy... I use some of he fancier stuff for when I'm with my husband. As for anal play, may I suggest buying something designed or anal play to start... And start slow...and lube lube lube!!! Check out other threads in here about the best way o get started...HAVE FUN!!!!!
