You can do invitro grows with just brown rice flour, vermiculite, jars and a spore syringe. You dont even have to take it out of the jar.

And Fritz, whoever you know that uses grow lights for mushies is retarded. They dont need nearly that much light.

 

Ummm, I said "no need for grow lights" etc. Sort of trying to underline how easy it is to do this with some degree of covertness as opposed to other growables.

 

Im going coconut coir. this time around... very excited with all the materials i have now, just waiting for a little bit more a break in the winter.. few more weeks..

 

Add in some verm to help promote more flushes. About a 25-40% ratio to the coir will be fine. Definitely more coir than verm. Coir has a tendency to dry out. Also, if you have any B complex vitamins, crush one up and add it to your water.

Spent coffee helps potency (for me, its debatable), but it lowers the pH, therefore raising the chance of contams. You seem to have a little experience, so I think you could make it work. If you have gypsum or lime, that would help to buffer the pH.

Ive been using coir for a long time. Its my preferred bulk.

that was beautiful ,very well done.. I was looking exactly for some honey info and I kept getting twisted. now Im confident ..wbs? will any brand do or should there be a certain seed ratio? unless I missed someting, will read again though ..

 

Just about any brand of WBS works. Its usually a mix of sunflower seed, milo, millet, cracked corn, wheat and/or rye. Good shit.

I use Nunn Better brand ($6 for 20 lbs) and it has sunflower seed, milo, cracked corn and wheat.

Dont worry about taking out the sunflower seeds. It doesnt hurt anything at all, although some people will say to pull them out.

 

To be honest I wouldnt go out picking unless you have someone experienced to show you the ropes.
