do you see how technology is advancing?
    purchases becoming so cashless
    payments without effort
Self checkout at the grocery stores
    all so automated
Have you seen the Amazon Go store? As soon as you pick up the item, you are charged to your bank account. I can see the advancement..

And when the Internet goes down, what then?

There are (or very soon will be) grocery stores where there is no payment exchanged. With this model, one just selects items from the shelves and scans the items with their phone, the cost of the purchase is charged to their account, and then they just walk out the door.

If the internet and cellphone data both fail, then yes, the consumer is screwed; but something tells me that in that situation, there would be something bigger at play, and modern folks would all be in trouble regardless.

I blame Walmart who chose to not enforce the emergency $50 per account limit when the system went down.
In this case greed was a two-headed sword, which is why the police and the DA chose not to pursue the matter any further

walmarts job is to sell stuff

its not their job to teach wildling hoodrats how to behave like decent human beings.

^^^You seem to be missing the point, Walmart learned something from the nationwide success of the dollar stores ^^^
and are specifically targeting low income hood-rats and trailer park trash

You want a gun(s), working flashlight(s), brains, and not concerned about your refrigerator.

you seem to have missed the point that walmart is a selling business and its not in the business of budgeting for people ,teaching how to be responsible citizens and/or fixing government screwups

how would you like it if some dipshit cashier would run a credit check on you and deny your purchase if they arbitrarily deemed your credit card balance to be higher than they thought it should be...

    its none of their business

doesnt matter who they target...no one is forcing those hoodrats to acts like wildlings...its a product of their own culture

this isn't about technology. which is probably obvious.
its about cultural motivations, and where hatred of logic causes them to drift.
of course it depends upon the technologies it motivates the evolving of,
but its the evolving (devolving in this case mostly) of culture, that motivates the directions in which technologies do.

I'm a bit of an Amazon addict...they make it so easy. One-click purchasing with free two-day shipping on a credit card that gives you cash back. I can find anything I can imagine. And then there's the symbiotic advertising on other platforms that target me on my phone. I buy something at least once a week.

This is why Amazon is a giant. Fuck these people id rather order online, get it on time, get a better deal, not deal with people.

People complained about walmart taking out small business. Which is true and valid. Also old argument. Walmart is still pure evil, don't get me wrong.

Now Amazon is taking out businesses.

Their will come a time when nobody wants to order online as a form of protest, but online will be the only way we get things.

Thank you liberals, we all need one way to buy this shit.

I know people in the 206, 253, 425 and 360. These giants are a huge change, will continue that way as long as people buy shit they don't need.

My neighbor is the gun person. I'll have to rely on his services. I do have this sign at the start of my driveway though.
