acola gathering report

what i want was people to know what went on and get there feed back. now i got it cool. thats what i wanted. its my understanding that if no one knows what happend it will happen over and over again and thats not what i want. what i wanted was some acountability on his part now it will happen.

 

I think there is a lot more to focalizing a gathering than people think, and as many things in life, we live and learn and keep on trying. No one person can do it all no matter how hard they try or how much they truely want things to work out. Fork has a good heart but took on way more than he could handle this year. I am most proud of all the hard working and willing kids who made it happen. We had a lot of newbees and not many kids that new what needed to be done, i myself focalized the digging of main circle and it was great, we had mamas and papas starting with almost no tools just hands and by the end of the day we had the most beautifull main circle, just in time for the first day of the gathering. Oz was the first established kitchen and the first to feed main circle but then we got a Co-op kitchen up and they feed too, and the coffee kitchen helped them out by letting them use our kitchen supplies to start feeding right away. There was a lot of drama with front gate and elswere. it is true that we had no fights untill they arived and then everyother night we had kids comeing in saying they got beat up or local kidds that were afriad to leave after dark , i think that was due to the poor set up and because front gate did not set up in the area designated for alchahol, but i m not a focalizor and don't know how all that is supposed to work, i just see a need and do all i can to help with the things i do know about. i was also on banking councle and helped set up main supply and got the crew together. We had concenceuse on things all the way but here and ther we had conflicts with someone thinking they could come in and tell us what to do with no respect for how hard we where working. Things will always work out and like i said no one person can do it all.... it takes the whole fammilly with the love and desire to make things work.
I think for many people it was a good experience, i myself got overly invalved because ther were so many things that were needed and i hope next year at vision councle we can get more things lined up and the comunication opened up better.... One good thing fork said was that next year he wants more time in between Ocala and Acola because our seed camp and Ocala clean up overlap and i think it would have given more time for supplies to travle such as the water buffallow.
It takes someone to focalize or we would not have a gathering site to begin with and it takes balls to put yourself out there like that, and you do have to be carefull. But u dont have to be there alone unless you choose to be. So my advise is that you open up and let others shoulder the loud with you and then its easier for all.

Went back for clean-up and had a great time with family. Been out of the hospital for 2 days now and will never do clean-up again. Found someones title, 2 phones, knifes, fuck ragss (Legs, Hustler, and a spanish mag) and other hippy stuff. Willie is helping the homeless ( gave him a hamock) and want to give him all my calm supplies, camping gear and all the stuff I found but haven't been able to get his address. Like to help the homeless too. The address of the club house would work too. But after 30 plus yrs. I'm done with RAINBOW.

 

You are accusing someone of theft among other things. Before I form any opinions or do anything I need to hear from the accused as well as other witnesses. Shanti Sena is not a witch hunt. If this happened on the land all involved would be gathered in circle for a dialog to sort out the details, different versions of the story, and come to a consensus. Until there is something of the equavalent here I reserve judgment.

 

i know your not much into follow up posts or even relevant postings lol but could you please elaborate on this post?

what happened that you wound up in the hospital? it cant be good i assume because of the done with rainbow comment..

Thistle, good to see you here! I know you help folks too, still in Gainsville? Gave most of the camping gear to the Nam Vets but still have a tent and CALM stuff if you want it. I could drop it off at Lins (Hally, Cypress, Cedar and 2 or 3 other kids that I can't name) next week.

 

Greetings, can't recall the name, I'm guessing you weren't calling yourself Olympic Bullshitter last time we met. Barring some miracle I won't be able to make the national this year so I'm probably not the best one to give CALM stuff to. But if you can't hang onto it and can't find a better place to pass it to I can take it and move on to people who can make use of it. I'm still in the same place a few blocks from Lynn's and you can find my RV and stop on by.

 

Hello, everyone... a little behind on the times, but how did the Acola Gathering turn out this year? I was there last year for a short time. It's good to see they kept it going again this year.

You Know me from Dancing Bears Wake in Vermont. Couldn't make TCs but heard it was good. Little Hawk was the only real brother in A-Camp(RIP). Thought I was going to Waveland But didn't so I got a car load for calm. Your good people and you have that chief motorhome so I thought you could take it. Don't think calm has this kind of stuff and it should really go to a Dr..... Know anyone? I'll see you Sunday.

 

Jeez...Y'know, wash the sand out of your vagina. I said the same thing after the Ark. gathering. Montana Mud did me in. After kicking down nearly $600 and loaning my entire kitchen to them I was thanked by them trashing my kitchen. Lost nearly half of my equipment.
I swore I'd never have anything to do with Rainbow again...but then I started thinking.
Why was I blaming the whole for the actions of a few? Why should I punish myself? Many of my friends (maybe most, to be honest) are Rainbow. Would I abandon those I love because of the ignorance or stupidity of others? Nah...just another lesson learned.

One more thing... ignoring the queries of others is rude. YOU wrote what could only be construed as a post that begged lots of questions. The least you could have done was tell us you didn't care to discuss what happened.

I don't deal with A-camp much anymore. Got attacked by a young A-camper in Ark. Poor kid...ended up taking 3 beatings over it. I whooped em, the Mud Kids whooped em and A-camp whooped him for attacking an "older"...then last year Mario and Cosmo threatened to kick my ass cause I had a radio. Made me a "High Holy" They backed off when they were reminded I was from CALM.
While I know no A- camper is gonna beat me, the harassment is getting stale.

A-camp kicking up money? Y'know, haven't seen Fast Eddie in quite a while.

Yeah, this new bunch is something, all right. Like the song says, "You don't know what you've got till it's gone."

I saw Mario last year at KV....thought he was mellowing well with age. Sorry to hear that. And Cosmo is usually one of the more level headed of that bunch, not that he doesn't have his moments.

It's all OK...the bros. were REALLY wasted!!!! Shit, I've known Cosmo for many years from both Rainbow and Dead tours.
The situation was a major drama involving Leos, Emts, CALM and others. Kinda think A-camp was a little scared.

A-camp...Ocala Front Gate...Shut Up and Eat It...etc. sure can piss me off but they're my family and I love ALL of them. Bunch o' fucking maroons...
