I've allways had a fascination with the Aussie accent.....so hot. I like the southern accent till I moved here. You can't understand some of these old farmers. lol, it's worse than the guys of 'King of the Hill' standing by the fense. But I do have to admit I've adopted a slight southern accent, it comes and goes depending on who I'm talking to.
For you Americans that don't know what the Welsh accent sounds like, just listen to Cahtrine Zeta-Jones'. Although I have seen an American Comedy where they did an imitation of her with an Irish accent...Stupid twats..
I Love Erzebet1961's Accent... And Her Voice... Her Accent and Her Voice are so beautifully Combined...
I love Irish, and Scottish accents. I don't care for the southern accent mainly because I have one and almost everyone I know has one. Oooh I also like the accents from Russia and Slovenia.
I have an amalgam of a Southern accent and Maryland accent. I hate Maryland accents, and I was distraught to find out I have one. But only when I'm tired. I have to keep up the non regional dialect in my line of work.
don't feel bad. when i'm tired i sound like i'm from oklahoma. very embarassing. i've never even been to oklahoma. avoid it like the plague.
I'm not even sure what accent I have. I've lived in Texas (VERY near Oklahoma...lol) all my life, but I have people here ask me all the time where I'm from. I talk slower a lot, but that's because I have a few minor speech impediments and my brain works a lot faster than my mouth, so words get slammed together in a lispy mess, When I slow down, I sound like an articulate human being, haha. When I was 17, I had a friend from Iowa, and hanging around her so much, I developed her accent with a lot of words. Backpack is one I've noticed in particular. In fact anything that has that "Aaah" sound in it (like most the words in this sentence). But Australian accents make me weak...I have no idea why, but I found that out the other day. This guy came into DQ and was really...not very pretty by my standards and WAY too old for my taste, but as soon as he opened his mouth, an Australian accent rolled out! I nearly fell over. Haha. I also love Scouse and certain Southern drawls. If a guy has a deep voice with a hint of the South in there, I melt. I enjoy most accents that I'm not used to hearing everyday. You'd be surprised, but most of the Southern accents I hear around here are high pitched nasal squawks. Oftentimes, I want to stick a screwdriver in my ears and burst my eardrums myself. Ack.
The Downeast Maine accent I find most unusual. For those who saw the Stephen King movie 'The Storm of the Century' you're probably familiar with it "I've gotta drive the caah down to Baah Haahbah" (Bar Harbor) Hotwater
lol. nope. more western than southern. still a drawl most of the time, though. and if i'm flirting i sound very breathy.
yeah, that sounds very texas, doesn't it? ever notice how all the bull riders sound like their nuts have been rammed up into their nasal cavity? there's this guy from georgia who works for my husband. big old cute bear of a guy with the most hypnotic southern "yes ma'am" thing going on. i can't believe he doesn't have a girlfriend. unbelievable.
I like most accents really, apart from the ones I cannot understand. :& Just the other day I was talking with this Scottish guy and I had such a hard time understanding him that most of the time I just nodded and smiled. He must have thought I was an idiot.
After every friggin' word? Not really an option, is it? It might just be me though, English isn't my first language so I probably struggle with understanding different accents more than native speakers do.
