Lucky you. Slightly better than Wally World pressboard furniture and boat loads of tchotchkes. Also, kitchen cabinets and such, and some IKEA kitchens aren't bad. I'm planning a visit for a metal clothes drying rack and my wood one is finally dying after 15 years, and a small triple clad pot for the stove.
I bought some good stuff there. If they rip off small manufacturers that would change my opinion of Ikea but this is the first time i saw that mentioned. Overall they get a lot of shit from people who bought a shitload of seducingly priced stuff there during the inevitable stroll through paths they wish they could skip... but yeah, in the end they picked it up and bought it. Just go with a list of what you want and a critical mind and it should be all good
I worked in a rug ( coir ) works in India that made rugs for them ! They like to keep money in the bank and pay right at the last minute You pay for stuff when you buy it from them also a small engineering firm near us used to make bed parts for them but they paid such a low unit cost that he ended up paying more for the material than he was getting For instance you order a Kitchen from them you Pay up front for your kitchen that will be delivered in four to six weeks they pay the people that make the stuff a month later so your money has been in the bank ( gaining interest at least ten weeks !
Ah yes. The build in kitchen industry is shit as a whole. At least in my country. The big stores ruined it together by trying to outdo the competition, now they all have a hard time making a proper profit. Which results in trying to squeeze out the companies they get their material from. Kind of like most big supermarkets..
modular pieces you can put together your own ways. of course they have these now at almost any large hardware store. does ikea not have public restrooms for customers? i've never lived close to an ikea, so i've never been in one, but i love hardware stores and lumber yards generally. i do wish large corporate franchising hadn't put, little hardware stores out of business. for one thing, there being more smaller ones meant more chances for one to be close by. some do still exist.
I have seen signs there pointing in the general direction of restrooms but never actually encountured the restroom itself.
And the small, real hardware stores, usually have that item you're looking for so you have to leave the Lowe's or Home Depot and go to the small store anyway.
does it feel good to go back to your posting roots? anyway, i've also never been to an ikea. or seen one anywhere. i always assumed it was one of those fictional businesses created for tv, like kwik-e-mart, or mega-lo-mart, or jack in the box. you know you can get a bathmat at walmart, right? and probably shit in the aisles guilt free, too.
UGH. Never again will I use an Andy Gump. Not after i used one back in 2014 or so after a bunch of construction workers had been using it. It was a terrible experience. Never again.
pffff, don't be a wimp... everyone's shit stinks, even yours on the showroom floor of IKEA LOL Last time it was Taco Bell, right? so now it's some foo-foo coffee? maybe you should see a doctor or just avoid IKEA stores..... JK, but I truly do despise particle board furniture so "no IKEA for me!!" kinda sad that IKEA is in my spell checker vocabulary...what has this world become???
