Dutch family of 7 waiting for "the end of time" discovered living in farmhouse basement

Dutch police discovered a family of seven living in a farmhouse basement and waiting for the world to end, the BBC reported Tuesday. The family allegedly spent nine years in the basement and were only found after one family member escaped.

According to local news outlet RTV, a 58-year-old man was living with six siblings, aged 18 to 25, on a farm in the Drenthe province. The oldest of the siblings escaped from the basement on Sunday evening, asking staff at a pub in nearby Ruinerwold for help.

The owner of the bar, Chris Westerbeek, said the man was unkempt and looked confused.

i think the conspiracy is to convince people that because someone will, none of us are capable of being any wiser. which IS a complete crock.

nine years would be most of an oldest son's life, would it not?, so how would he know what a bar is, unless it just happened to be the first inhabited place he came to?

hell though, if i could somehow survive nine years without having to deal with retarded alcohaulic fascists,
i wouldn't consider that hiding from the end of anything, or even hiding at all,
i'd call that living a very happy and satisfying life.

of course if i can't figure out how to do that by myself, i totally have no idea how that would be possible with a family.
questions of land where they'd be undisturbed, or property taxes if they had title to it arise.
wouldn't the government, whatever government wherever they were, have sent someone around to check if they hadn't paid any taxes for nine years?
or were there neither property taxes nor building codes, or did, really, no one know there was anyone there?

to me that would be totally cool. i mean if they were able to eat regular, and each other's company didn't get too oppressive.

ok, different situation. nothing wrong with someone doing that to themselves, but keeping his children or siblings from poking their noses out and having a bit of a look around, i mean 18 to 25 year olds, seriously. yes that does sound cult/oppressive. even if there were only seven of them.

basement of a house? ok still what about property taxes and the collection there of?

"Following the raid it was discovered the family can barely talk and speak in a bizarre “fantasy language” after their many years in isolation.

Police had great difficulty understanding the “incomprehensible” victims who slept and ate on the floor of the windowless room, according to local reports.

Officers admit they are becoming increasingly baffled by the case and are not even sure if the family were held against their will."

If I was kept in a room for 9 years, a bar would be my first stop when I escaped too.
