Ted Cruz is effectively the Speaker of the House. Boehner lets people like Cruz dictate his behavior.

Sadly , the current regime has failed pathetically. Seeing that most folks on this site are so concerned about the "non essentials" ; they get back pay. The taxpayer still must treat the civil servant as an expense. Now that "it" has ended ; barry can create an EO directing handles to be replaced on drinking fountains , toilets at highway rest stops can once again be cleaned ; well at least somewhat. Back to normal?

President Obama right now delivered an excellent speech about the sorry mess of the sort-of-resolved government shutdown. I agreed with everything he said. He makes so much sense compared to the ravings of the Tea Party.
