About a woman president...

Well the answer to the question "Why haven't we had a woman president" is obvious. Its because people are sexist. I had this weird idea the other day that we should have 2 presidents and one had to be a woman and one had to be a man and we would have to have the same number of men and women in the government, just so people couldn't be sexist.

I don't think that sexism will go away enough to get any female presidents elected any time soon, but it will happen someday, like when enough women in this country go to the polls to outnumber the sexist idiots, and I'm assuming they'd be voting for a good canidate.

I thought for awhile that we should have two kinds of money, then I realized how that wouldn't work.

I don't think it would be any different if we had a female president than if we had a male president. Females can run things just a good as males can.

 

Ohhh this just reminded me about my thoughts...

 

Iorn Goth, you can't judge all women by the statistics of the voting population, because it barely includes the poulation of this country.

A woman could do a fine job of defending and acting in the best interest of her country. You want to sterotype women? Why don't we then! Women will fight tooth and nail to protect her children. Nothing is more aggressive than a female when the children she protects are at stake. If a women took the country under her wing, if she was the right leader who thought of the people of her country as her own, she will defend it ruthlessly to the death. She would certainly sacrifice herself for the best interest of those she is protecting.

I think you highlighted something important though: you said "if she was the RIGHT leader." I.e., she was Thatcher with balls of steel. Men and women are a lot more likely to believe that a guy has the nerve and the will to defend the country than a female.

the point is, whoever is in charge, man or woman, should not be fittting some generalization of their sex.

I am in great favore of Condoleeza Rice running for president.
NO.....she will not get my vote because she is a woman, she will get my vote because of her past history on capitol hill, and by of corse what she plans on dooing during her term as pres.

where'd you get that impression? are you laboring under the assumption that all women will vote for a woman just for the sake of voting for a woman? maybe some will, but you'd be shocked at how SENSIBLE we testicularly challenged humans can be.

i think a woman president is just what we need, for the readson that they do react more emotionaly, after all, if bush gave a shit about lives we wouldnt be at war, hes only concerned with the facts..meanning how much proffit he will make..
i think a woman pressident would also care more about the environment & social issues as well as human rights issues globaly
