    I agree!

As far as I'm concerned by the time that your abort a fetus it isnt a person so it's isnt murder, it's removing a cluster of cells that in MY uterus that I dont want there.

Bottom line: YOU are a MAN, you will NEVER understand what it's like to carry a child and you will never have to worry about having a abortion, the fact of the matter is as a man it's not in your genetic code to understand what a abortion is like for a woman and therefor have no right to preach aganist it.

Sad really, out of billions of sperm your the one that made it to the egg?

I am trying to do everything I can, it will take some time but that's one of the reasons why I want to become a lawyer.

Oh please, I've tried to respond to every response to this thread. But common, do you really expect me to go out of my way on a forum like this? Some of you people tell me to get a life, why, because I'm trying to argue against abortion, yeah I've been donating some of my precious time to you people, be thankful.

And just what makes you so damned important? I've seen this anti abortion arguement a hundred times so don't even need to read the whole thread. It's just ignorant. We need more rules and laws and people telling us what to do like a damn hole in the head. In the greater scheme of things humans are utterly unimportant. Imposing your will and opinions on others who don't agree is simply a waste of time. So you are donating nothing. It hurts you not at all if someone chooses to abort. It hurts nothing at all. It's a waste of time to even worry about it. If ya don't believe in abortions then don't ever have one. That's all.

No patience for this and goin' to bed. May visions of aborted fetuses curse your dreams...

That's like saying if you don't believe in murder never kill someone in cold blood.

Our entire society is a hypocrisy.

adoption is a choice in a situation. May you never be having to make it, or be part of it. It is horrid for the parents and later, the disconnect the child will have. Adoptive parents, by and large are great. But the child will ALWAYS wonder why they were given up. Platitudes do not answer that.

First World Nations are wealthier and their populations are diminishing, while 3rd World Nations which are poorer are increasing in population, that's just what I think though.

I'm friends with one adopted kid, she's made a great life for herself, and even if she wonders why her real parents gave her up she's better the way she is.[/QUOTE]
first off, we never know if the adoption is "better." it is the option that looks best at the time.
You do not know, she does not know, if she is better off. I do not know if I was better off. We assume this because we have to.

will you answer the REAL point of the post? Or can you not?

What happened to Native American, Hispanic and black kids put up for adoption, or into foster care (were I started)?

With people already here needing homes, why do you make abortion your issue?
Why do you care? Really, deep down inside, why do you, a male not even of age to buy a drink in the US, really care about what a desparate woman does?

Uh, yea, and your point is? What exactly was hypocritical about that? Most people who don't believe in murder would not kill someone in cold blood... I don't believe in murder. Don't believe in war. Don't believe in the death penalty. But I do believe in freedom of choice when it comes to having kids. Immoral? Well, if you think so, then remember, it's "immoral" to have sex if you're not married and you don't want kids. So don't have sex. Then you won't have abortions. Pretty impractical if you ask me. Let's be realistic. I can see it now, a 2 month old fetus screaming "oh god, don't kill me!" Sounds like good material for a cartoon to me. How do you know that a fetus has any self awareness at all? Hey, I know that alot of women who abort get pretty emotional afterwords, thinking about the baby that might have been, but if you ain't ready to be a mom, you ain't ready. I've seen enough babys born that ended up having to be taken in by their grandparents, because the mom was too immature to deal with it, too much of a whore, too much of a drug addict, homeless, etc. etc. There are way too many orphans and unwanted kids out there already. Why make more? Ya ain't gonna stop girls from having sex, no matter what. And ya ain't gonna stop the guys either.

I think that most western societies are oversexed. Teens are having sex younger and younger. Casual sex is more prevalent. Sex with multiple partners is not uncommon. Waiting till wedlock to have sex is unheard of. People are irresponsible with sex and it is evident. Rate of abortions, single parents, etc....

If the result of consensual sex produces a child, I believe that it should be the agreement of both parents as to how the pregnancy should be handled. I do not think that if the woman becomes pregnant and does not want the child, that it is her ultimate decision. It took both parents to create the child and it should require the agreement of both parents on how to handle it.

I think the decision to have an abortion is a very moral and ethical decison. I do not believe a woman should have an abortion unless the child is a product of rape or the health of the mother is at risk. These are my beliefs and I do not expect anybody else to agree. I think the gift of life is the greatest gift by God. Having an abortion because the parents were irresponsible is a sin. If a person can live with the decision of terminating a life, then that is their decision. Just my .02.

Wow, I'm of age in almost every country, who cares if I can't drink in the States, boo hoo. Also, that is COMPLETELY off topic. Desperate or not, what's wrong is wrong. There have been responses saying it should be okay for rape and health, and I'm fine with that, even though I am kinda hardened on that issue if it was made like that the number of abortions would not even be a tenth of what they are today ( since those kind of situations are rare ). In Canada, it is complete slaughter, our Health Care system pays for the mass termination of our own citizens, that's wrong. Canadian law has no restrictions on abortion, absolutely none, and infanticide is usually a max penalty of 5 years and I've never heard of a case where the woman served all 5. That's my problem, that's why I care.

Here in the US, the law states and the supreme court said that a woman can have an abortion for ANY reason. Has to do with not making laws that infringe on privacy of citizens. The sad part about the court is that it could not properly define when life begins in the womb. What we are left with is the pro life/pro choice opposing views. They couldn't say it is or it isn't murder. Perhaps they have guilty consciences.

And that's why we have 1.5 million abortions per year in the US.:leaving:

I agree that the father should know about the pregnancy and have much say in what happens with that child; but I also think that the father needs to have his head on straight to do that...if he were to biased about his pro-life morals, and the woman has very good reason to have an abortion, it shouldn't be pushed on her to have the child, anymore than an abortion should be pushed onto her.

But I do think that it is the womans responsibility to talk it over with the father, regardless of whether they are together or not.

I do also want to say that, as much as I understand the fathers part in this sort of thing, it is still the woman's body. And, I do get a little irritated when men, especially young men with little life experience have such a high opinion on this.

I know guys that also feel that way, so its not just women singling them out. My fiancee, for example, has said many times, that he doesnt think its a guys place to decide what happens to a womans body

You're 20, I don't think anyone below 18 has responded to this thread. I know that's still young but you're relatively young yourself.

Perhaps the US should view that life begins in the scrotum. And any male that chooses to create a new life should be held financially responsible. For every preganancy created, there should be a male that accepts responsibility.

They already do, it's called child support.

Every 12 to 13 year old should be required to attend a birth from start to finish. And also to visit a hospice for people dying of aids. This should be a mandatory part of sex ed.

I am sex positive enough to keep fear out of it. I'm also a student midwife so birth is not fearful to me. I was never taught that sex was to be feared, I was taught that it CAN cause things to be feared. There is a huge difference in that, which I can not put into words. And as far as my personal life goes, I am monagamous and been with the same person since I was 16. Promiscuity isn't a derogatory term to me, safe sex is positive sex, however many people you're having sex with. Safe sex is the key, and that needs to be stressed in sex ed. Abstinence and fear tactics don't work, they just pyschologically don't register with us like that. It is best to compliment people on what they're doing right, that gets further than if you do this this will happen when we all know that's not necessarily so.

In summary I would highly consider myself a sex positive person, and not someone to instill fear but to spread knowledge.

I can say that the sex ed in my school started with "the person who should matter most to you is God". That certainly didn't start things off well and about goes to explain without words what sex ed actually IS in many schools in this country. And they do teach fear, they teach that condoms don't work (so why use them then, right?).

I can say that from my experience, this method of sex ed is not limited to the South at all, but very well could be limited to america (I would not say Va is the south). But onwards....
