To set the record straight with you, Maggie---I am not telling anyone what to do with their bodies, I am stating MY opinion. I do not have many posts, no. But, I do have other things to do with my time rather than sit at my computer jumping down someone's throat because they disagree with me.
Love and Peace is exactly that: Love and Peace. You and I obviously differ on meanings. In another thread you were telling a young woman how to help save her unborn baby. Here, you are an advocate to those who want to kill their's. It is a woman's right issue for many of you. To me, it is a LIFE issue. In the future, I would appreciate your maturity as to not make this personal, and allow me and others to continue stating our opinions freely.

You are free to state your opinions. But, I and others are also free to state theirs. I will not address you anymore, unless it is in a manner which needs Moderation. Your ad hominem attacks of EVERY poster who has more posts than you do
insults every regular poster on this board.

There are much worse threats to Love and Peace than legal termination of pregnancy. Say......Conservatives who can't think beyond the end of their own nose, ("well I didn't have an abortion, therefor YOU shouldn't have one either and neither should anyone else") and know NOTHNING about the mechanics of birth control to think that EVERY unwanted pregnancy can be prevented by using birth control. And Conservatives who want laws to control a womyn's choice on what to do with her own body. This type of goverment control only leads to Totalitarian systems, which is a HUGE threat to Love and Peace.

I am freakin done here, I will monitor this thread for any further personal attacks, but that is it.

Do not put words into my mouth to suit yourself. You originally brought this onto a personal level by attacking me because I disagreed with your stance on abortion. Your comment about my only having 38 posts...wasn't that condescending to everyone who didn't have as many as you?
If you wish to learn of my personal dealings with abortion in the early 70s (yes...early 70s!!!), please email me sometime. I am sure it would prove quite enlightening.
I hope you find true Love and Peace within yourself.

Agreed. At a certain point, (And this probably happened 10 pages ago) everyone's just arguing in circles and it won't get anyone anywhere.
And for the record Autumn, I think Maggie's original comment was this: You shouldn't just walk into a COMMUNITY of people who you've never met or known before (but whose THOUSANDS of posts note how long they've known one another), insult them all, and then expect them to listen to you and revere you for your wisdom.

Advising myself, who didn't want the baby

precisely that situation 16.75 years ago.

Had the baby and she is a beautiful 16 year old.

or I could have aborted "it" and "it" would be flushed and long gone by now

    hmm...

    life or death

    OR

ADOPT OUT your mistake, accident, oops, spontaneous love, birth control failure, BABY to a loving family who desparately wants a baby and can't have one

The abolition of abortion would NOT be a step towards totalitarianism, because it is a human rights issue. The government would not be doing this to control women, it would be to protect all life. If the government tried to impose other restrictions on women that were NOT in the interest of protecting life, then that certainly would be a cause for alarm.

I do not view the government telling someone not to abort a baby to be any different than the government telling someone not to murder their ten year old son or daughter.

Except abortion is NOT murder. It is the government dictating what a human does with their body, based on religious reasons, not science. & It's bullshit!

Everything that needs to be said already has been.

THere is no reason to go in circles, like many posters have pointed out.
