That is a beautiful photo (but I think Templedragon is the dude) Once, somewhere I read a response to the photo as "nice tits" ...have to say that boiled my blood. I just find that dissection of humans into parts-when clearly the whole (not hole) is the object- to be demeaning and castrating. I hate it more for my son and daughter. It's probably just my problem though. Don't mean a buzz kill or any harm just I had to post a quick rant because I dig that photo a lot. I get all misty eyed at the thought of freedom of expression... hope that is a real tattoo....amazing... Imagine how cool when she is old....

Now I'm off to play... and make a wish.... for the newest of us, congratulations, as well as the oldest, congratulations, and all in between

I disagree w/ your assessment of Abbie. He & Jerry Hoffman & the remainder of the Chicago 7 did more to further the Yippie movement than anyone since. Hoffman & Rubin were the quintessential leaders/organizers or the radical Left of the late 60's, they were not wannabees. For you to denigrate their contribution to Democracy in the latter 60s is utter BS, WHAT WERE YOU DOING THEN??? yOU NEED TO FAMILIARIZE YURSELF WITH THE CHICAGO 7 MY FRIEND. UNTIL THEN, GO BURN ONE!

I completely disagree with you. I was at the repub nat'l convention '72 protesting against Nixon re-nomination, Nixon was a war-monger hawk who absoluteky HATED the anti-war cohort whether it was Abbie, Rubin, Hayden, SDS, Weathermen, Jane Fonda, VVAW, Black Panthers, etc. That was the era of CREEP which had no illusion about Watergate burglaries, spying on republican protestors in '72 or infiltrating the dissenters with CIA! I remember marching in the anti-repub marches Aug '72 in Miami Beach, major news telecast inside the repub convention grounds @ the convention center as we burned the repub elephant banners on Collins Blvd. We were guaranteed safe "passage" to protest against Nixon & the war....but in reality we were coralled into Flamingo Park, tear gassed & bombed for speaking out against Nixon & his war on North Vietnam, Jane Fonda was tried in he media, as a traitor for nohing more than trying to provide a PEACEFULL RESOLUTON TO THE WAR.

I was a little young to remember what was goin' on back then, but it sure seems similar in many ways to how it is now ('cept that now there seems to be less activism), the Rethuglicans are at it again...

"takes exception with me-- an original BEATNIK AND "HIPPIE" FROM !966! Who the hell are you to criticize me? Abbie Hoffman was an idiot. Most of the hippies were idiots. The only reason I'm on this board, is to possibly connect with old friends, and this certainly does not include you"

    Brother,

Who the hell do YOU think you are riding in here like a keyboard commando on your moldy hippie high horse calling names, spreading insults and acting like a rabid republican?

Your age, the length of your hair, how many conventions you went to, how many Rainbow Gatherings you've been to, how many rock bands you been in... who cares?

it doesn't matter squat what credentials you think you bring into this community, you don't have the right to put people down, insult thjem, or act like an asshole. Hippie or not.

If I was one of your "old friends" I would be embarrassed to admit it publicly.

Take a chill pill, toke, a swig, a nap, whatever it takes, but please be respectful, polite and constructive. If you cannot give peace and love, than try a little understanding.

Hey, BC ... good to see you're still hanging around. Hope you remember me ... :)

Sorry for running this quote, but I'm not sure maryfairy noticed your info saying you were "male", unless some folk are in the habit of callin men bitches ... In any case, I don't think your a bitch ... a friend, perhaps ... bitch, not !!!

Heck you're the one who caused me to become interested in investigating Buddhism because of your and my acquaintenance with Marsha Kilmer (SAM, or Plain_Ole_Sam) back a couple-a years ago.

Hope to see you around more ...

Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum!

Good to see you here, brotherman. We could use a little more Bodhichitta around these cyber-parts. FYI: I attend the Skya Monestary here in Seattle.

Many blessings of goodness to you!!

Didn't goverment agents pose as dealers to sell A. Hoffman a pound of pot and then bust him for it ?

    What an atrocious act.
Its a shame that our civil libretarians are all wound up over The Patriot Act and NSA wiretapping but people arrested for pot are ignored.

Yes, wiretapping terrorists, quickly can turn into wiretapping your political adversaries, and then just manufacture an event that requires the killing of innocent Americans, and then you can declare martial law and suspend elections in the name of preserving the God given gift of Freedom that we fail to export so well.

We are living in very unsure times.

Hello, Sus and Teepi ... :)
Busy day today. Boy do my knees hurt ...

Glad to be home though, if livin in a temple can be called home. Actually, I live in a hut on the temple property that I totally rebuilt from the inside; insulation, drywall, beading, base/ceilingboard, the works, cept'n the paint'n. That has to wait till I get more warmer weather where I can move everything back outside.

    Are you Ani?

Nawang Tsultrim is a Tibetan name, and Bodhicitta is a Mahayana phrase for Enlightened Mind. Tell me more about yourself. However, P&R would probably be more appropriate place for this conversation to continue ...

Hope to see you there ...
