The Bible says he did. Jesus did not write the bible. You're taking the word of some dead guys nobody knows to report accurately the adventures of your spiritual leader. The bible is supposed to be god's word. God did not write the bible, so assuming god had the inspirational part of the creation of the bible, the bible is god's word or what was interpreted as god's word filtered through human beings. I'm pretty sure god doesn't dictate for scribes or anything.

 

God made the bible through people. God uses people as writing and creating instruments (you and everyone). Of course, some people are used to write things that show less understanding of God than the bible.

God uses human beings to pass on God's word in a more or less intact state depending on the understanding of the person passing the word.

God DID inspire the men who wrote the Bible so then it would be a perfect guide for his followers. Also, Jesus did indirrectly wrote the Bible (God inspired the men who wrote the Bible, Jesus is God)

Men have free will, and god's will is interpreted by different people differently. What appears to be god's word or will in your mind can very easily be hallucinations, hypnogogic sights or sounds, or your very own thoughts. There is nothing anywhere that proves legitimacy of the bible.
