You said you want fewer people, that you put animal life ahead of some human life, and you compared humans to a virus.

It doesn't get much more anti-human than that.

This is not about abortion.

And nothing makes us so high above all other forms of life. But perpetuation and survival of the species means we take care of our own first. It's biology.

 

Yes, i wish this world was not so overpopulated is what i meant....but I would not want to wipe anyone out, either.

 

I never said to stop breeding. I said to let woman have the right to choose what they want to do with their pregnancies.

There are enough people who want to have children to keep the human race going.

I wish people who don't want to be pregnant were more careful about it, and not use abortion as birth control, too.

 

Over consumption is a much bigger threat than the actual numbers of people on the planet. People need to think differently; not reduce in number.

I mean, I'm not trying to be an ass, I just don't understand this aversion to putting people first. I'm an animal lover. I get it. I'd save my own pets in a disaster. But I don't put animals lives in general ahead of humans'. I'll take care of me and my own, you take care of you and your own, and may God have mercy on all beasts--two and four-legged alike--who can't get out of harm's way.

That, I find, to be a damn travesty. There are legitimate reasons out there for terminating a pregnancy. He-didn't-have-a-condom-and-we-chanced-it-anyway shouldn't be one of them.

Yeah, but again, it is not any of my business why people want to termiinate their preganncy, if that is what they wish to do. Everyone lives with their own decisions...but I won't pass judgement on what people do like that. It is not my call.

I do get it, to a certain extent.
People tend to be idiots, and if you can't provide for yourself, you shouldn't be having babies.
But to be honest, it's overly simplified, and a bit ignorant.

These commercials of starving children that you see...third world countries, right?
Africa most likely.
Poverty, wars, no education, no healthcare...to name just a few problems.
Not to mention how their various societies work.
And you call it stupidity?

It's not as simple as you'd like it be...it's like these people need to stop fucking without a condom, and then it'll all get better.

When I read that post, I was kind of shocked.

I will give you that, but how smart does one have to be not to know, I I do this with someone.....a pregnancy might result....and starving here from my fast that day...it is agony. I had relief in sight...my own decision to do that, in the first place....but these babies and children have no relief in sight. It bothered me for them, and I can get angry..

 

Piaf is talking about third world countries. In the Western world, yeah, you want to have consequence-free sex, you use protection. I don't think it's unrelated that countries with exploding populations also have some of the higher rates of instances of AIDS.

It's got to be a combination of poverty and a lack of education. People aren't going to stop having sex. That's not reality. And if people don't have the knowledge and means to engage in it safely, it's still going to happen. It's just not going to be safe.
