My girl is sweet. She asks if I'm okay. I'm having a bath and I'm like.. Yeah I suppose.. Why? She says well you're listening to Flyin' Shoes, that generally means you aren't happy. Which I suppose is true because Townes is my go to when I'm feeling low. But I told her no I'm alright I just listened to a solo version of this song where Townes explains how he wrote it and I just thought it was beautiful.

The song really isn't anything about what he was thinking about. He explains that he was laying on the ground on his property and began to think of a young confederate soldier that may have layed on the same ground.

To me the song is about having flying shoes, an escape from where you are etc. But it mentions nothing of war or soldiers. It's about the seasons and the moon.

Anyhoo so I explained to her that I was trying to meditate to that same scenario and paint a picture about what Townes may have been thinking or feeling at the time.

 

Well I remember William, we weren't much more than kids
His family lived in a run down shack like the rest of the white trash did
And me and ol William, we used to smoke out behind the barn
Until his daddy caught him stealin cigarettes, I still think he broke Williams arm

When I was drinking my first beer ol William was getting high
He got kicked out of school for fighting and drugs and he stayed out late at night
He never said too much about home or the bruises on his back
I asked him about one time but he never answered back

He spent a year in reform school cause he broke in a hardware store
Then me and William lost track of each other, I never saw him much anymore
The last time I seen William he was married and had two kids
He tried to raise em like he was supposed to but sometimes he raised em like his daddy did

Now just last Sunday morning my mamma called me on the phone
She said that there was a story in the paper about William she just thought I might want to know
He got shot by a city cop while he was robbing a local drug store
He was survived by two hungry kids, a wife and a pool of blood on the floor

William, you grew up hard and mean.

I can't stop laughing at something that happened at work yesterday. We had a safety meeting about people leaving stuff on the floor and so like I've come to realise once you have a safety meeting, whatever you discuss becomes somewhat of a running joke.

So our Senior employee of 46yo he's pretty funny but he hates childish behaviour so when someone we call Kezza threw something on the floor well our senior had to say something but Kezza could oy reply with the most retarder noise he could could come out with...

And our senior, just this look on his face of absolute disgust lol. Like a full glare.

To Kezza saying ohhh okay what's wrong I'm listening?

"well like I was just saying we just had a meeting about.."

And this happened for a few mins. I guess ya had to be there but it was so funny I made it worse because I encouraged it with my laughter. Lol so I keep making this random noise now

Cooler night. Great motorcycle ride this morning. No deer...lots of raccoons and glowing eyes.
Paranoid over that little bear jumping out in front of me like that video someone posted a month or two ago. Trying to imagine what i would do or react to that scenario happening.

Anyways nice ride.....autumn is coming.... Autumn has some of the best visual rides during the day, not too much at 1am

Autumn is the best.
And early spring too, except it never lasts long. It's like we almost go straight to hot summers.

But yay, looking forward to autumn!

That picture is most likely summer in most of UK..

But in the countryside autumn is the best, in towns and cities, not so much, in London, it just dampers the smog a little.

Piaf, you must do some traveling whilst your in the UK..

Mally and I would love to take you to the Cavern.. think about it, you can get a direct train from London to Liverpool in a couple of hours, so really you could spend the day.. have a think, let us know

 

8 degrees out there this morning. chilly in the house, but I refuse to turn on the heat in august...

 

ac made the house 49F.. I don't know how it didn't shut down.. had the most vivid dream ever. later, have to play with the trains..
