My chemo buddy passed away today at 423pm. His daughter and I were with him and he went as peacefully as possible. Bob, you gave it all you had and it was time as you had made peace with that. May the road rise up to meet you; May the wind be always at your back, the sun shine warm upon your face, The rain fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again May God hold you in the hollow of his hand Cheers Bob, but the scotch is not the same without you.
He was a special person who came into my life at a time that I needed him and he needed me. In the most positive way possible. I was on my third round of treatments and he was just starting his. They parked him in the bed next to mine and it was an instant rapport. He teased me that I should be called Dorothy as I was wearing red high heels and after that I wore them every treatment. At the end of the shift he would say click those heels and lets get out of here. He is resting easy now as it should be. But I am going to miss him. Just as it should also be.
Heather I am sorry for your loss. You are a good friend. Bob's soul is finally free of a body that had let him down. Rest in Peace Bob. You will be missed.
