A Strange but Cool Idea

Now I'm following you, Tormentations - major big time.

I'm a bad boy trying to be myself, but I'll admit I still shy away sometimes - and you're right, it does not feel good at all.

And that was something I needed to hear.

But I still don't see what you're getting at with the man/women hierarchy stuff... But it's okay, I don't need to get it.

And I'm with thedope on the subject of your twirling girl...I spent quite a while watching her twirl...

 

Shrug, still all gibberish to me. Maybe he's cued into something, but there's distortion on the line.

Fun point on the twirling image: Is she spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

 

What is there to figure out?
He is either

A) A clinically insane person who somehow gains sporadic access to a computer and web connection

or

B) A person who intentionally convoluted his text to the point of incomprehensibility for the sake of appearing deep in thought, or tapped into some cool jive talk, or because he finds confusion amusing, or any number of reasons.

No rational person with a point speaks in the manner this man does.

 

I'm thinking maybe some kind of symbolism, but I can't follow the metaphor or determine the references.

Regarding the image: Seems to me it's got to be twirling counter-clockwise as seen from above. The left leg moves from left to right in front of the right leg. Am I missing something?

 

I find that the notion of "myself" is very largely dependent upon who I am talking to and who I am being confronted by.
I don't cling to some abstract ideal and pretend to be better than people. I live down to earth and interact on a person-to-person basis.

To me, it seems the left leg is stationary, she is pivoting on the left leg while the right leg moves in a clockwise circle

 

That was my immediate take on it, neo. But of course I also think that quantum physics is gibberish, yet there are a lot of people who create a very convincing appearance of comprehending it.

 

And this is the statement of pain.

 

I guess "convincing appearance" is the integral missing part here then, huh

This is why I hate that image
I know people see it differently than me, but there is no possible way for me to change how I see it, it's supremely weird.

Tell me this: Which direction is her right leg moving - left to right, or right to left?

 

Don't try neo, look without focus or focus on the bottom foot, and the image will appear to change direction of spin.

 

Oops, never mind....I see it now. It took me a lot of concentration, but I was finally able to see the image the other way. Freaky.

 

Well to me she appears to be spinning in a circle.
So when her foot is in the background, left to right.
When it's in the foreground, right to left.

And I'm not messing with you, it drives me crazy too.

 

People have recommended this before but it's still never worked for me.

 

I did it by focusing on the stationary foot, but I also had to make a concerted effort to imagine the other foot passing in front when I wanted to think it was passing behind, and finally it clicked.

 

What does work for you other than anxiety?

 

So having accomplished the reversal of the spinning image, I am now ready to attempt the interpretation of Tormentation's initial post again...
