We kind of meant for you to smoke a bowl and chill out to listen to the disc as one long project. I hope you enjoy it. Just some small-time guys having fun. :)

You're playing at the Mews? I haven't been there in probably 10 years. It sounds good. It's not really my style but good quality. I hope you do well.

Yeah. Playing there next month. We play there fairly regularly. What town are you in?

And I should have said...if you don't like the first song...just pick another one. There is a lot of variety. Definitely not a disc where every song sounds the same or is in the same genre.

I'm in DSM. Born and raised. I'm maybe 5 miles from the Mews. I had a friend in a rockabilly band that would play there from time to time so I would go there to see him.

Cool. I don't live far from DSM. What band was your friend in? We'll be at the Mews for a label showcase night on 12-27. Stop by if you want to meet up. I'll buy ya a beer.

    Thanks. :afro:

If anyone cares...my personal favs are maybe #6 or #8 and then 12, 13 and 14 listened to together. #14 is one of my favorite songs ever to play live. I play lead guitar normally and I always just improvise whatever I feel at that moment so that makes #14 especially fun for me. When we recorded that I pretty much just sat down and played whatever I wanted (framed around my basic riff) and did it in one take. Not to shabby for one take. :)

He was in Four on the Floor. He played stand up bass. I'll see what I'm doing that night. I'll let you know if I stop by.

Four On The Floor. I remember those guys. That was a long time ago. I think we actually may have even played a show with them way back when. Sweet! Small world!

And I take back what I said about #12. I love the song but I'm not thrilled with my part on it. It's always been a song that I've had a hard time improvising on. I guess it's ok but I was wasted when I recorded my tracks. Totally pulled that out of my ass at about midnight one night. Then later, I had to figure out what I played that night to throw something similar into into our live versions.

I think it was about 10 years ago. I used to hang out at Hairy Mary's all the time. Did you ever go there? God I miss that place. Used to go to small punk shows at the Botanical Center too.

Never really hung out at Hairy Mary's but I've hung out/played at a lot of other DSM joints. I remember when HOB was on Merle Hay..that was kind of a cool place to play. And I was thinking about Four On The Floor today....I'm sure we played with them a couple of times and I think we even have a poster from one of those shows somewhere in our studio.

I went to a few shows at HOB on Merle Hay. Actually I think I saw Four on the Floor play there once or twice. Probably the only times I was there. I've only been there once since they've moved downtown and that was for a charity event. I basically lived at Hairy Marys. For a couple of years. We would hang out between there and Lucky's downtown but neither one are there anymore. They had the same owners. I miss those dirty punk rock days hanging out with the punk boys that never showered. Oh the good old days. :) The bathrooms at Mary's were legendary. NOBODY wanted to use it. I probably squatted in the barber shop parking lot next door more than I actually used that disgusting bathroom. One of my goals was to get my name on the bathroom wall in the mens room. I had some friends make that happen. haha. It's the little things in life.

Did you ever go to the original People's in Ames? Terribly nasty bathrooms with stuff written all over the walls. That was my favorite place to play...ever! Such a great smaller venue with an awesome history. People's in DSM could never hold a candle to the original. I liked playing the DSM People's but it just wasn't the same.

I've never been to either of the People's. The only real time I've spent I'm Ames was in the late 80s/early 90s when my sister went to school up there. I was still a kid in middle school going to college parties in the dorms. I wasn't old enough to go out anywhere. I'm headed to Ames on Wednesday though. Best friends daughter goes to isu so we are taking her friend from China up to go to Rieman gardens or whatever that place is.
