Had my birthday party tonight at my local brewery. My wife wanted to know who to invite because I know a lot of people but I'm not a fan of shit like this at all....maybe I already posted this...I told her to narrow the list to people who I drink beer with. If she's never seen me drink beer with them....then no invite. About a dozen invited...all of them showed up and we had a great evening. Knocked down 6 IPAs and now I'm on the coffee and painting the house with a few friends. We need to knock this coffee out soon or the beer might start to get warm. Can't have that! :)

Oh yeah....evidently, I suck at painting. One of my best friends is a pro painter and he's going over my work and fixing it as I go. The fucking paint is on the wall and it's not running. That's what I'm going for.

I don't think I'm a good painter either. Not that much experience.

Worked for a pro painter for a few months... Pissed him off that I was better than his 25 years of experience taught him.

His biggest problem, he just had to cheap it out and it showed.

I was never taught to paint. I think I need training.

I can paint trim and stuff, but a big wall just kind of intimidates me.

Im fairly good at painting.. someday I finish the yellow submarine room. and halls and the other hall, and bedroom and living room. this house will take as much paint as a brand new 747 out of Lockheed.

I've painted a good bit, in our house and for a time I even worked for a painter...but he didn't pay much (less than minimum wage if you looked at it by the hour) and I had to paint mostly ceilings with kiltz. I was living with a boyfriend at that time and decided I'd rather do that. lol

Painting ceilings is AWFUL, especially with kiltz.

I need to repaint more than one room in this house now, especially the bathroom...but I doubt it'll happen while The Mother is still on this side of the great divide.

So, having to wait on that painting is ok. :)

That's one job - painting - that I'll never do again for money. It'll only be for me or for a Very Good friend or a close loved one...not just any kin. lol

First cup of coffee...not hungover! But I jammed my toe pretty bad last night and I'm definitely limping. That's what I get for drunk painting in my Grinch fleece pants and slippers. I suppose I better get started painting pretty soon. I don't think my painting is too terrible. I did a lot of painting when I was younger but I used to get really stoned and crank up the tunes. It wasn't too bad. I don't smoke weed anymore.

Anyone ever go to Splash Mountain --Disneyland? I took a break from working for myself and went to work for the second largest roofing company in Calif and yes---ol' Joel-boy put the Cedar shakes ( with some help) on that ride. '86 or '87, as I recall. I have a picture or two somewhere, showing me down inside the "mountain" installing them. It was spooky in there--dark with showers of welding sparks falling from somewhere above me in the dark. It was fun.

Champy pug, going on 13 years old this May, is not doing very well these days. He collapses every day now, just from taking a few steps outside for bathroom duties......I don't know how much longer we will have him.....but for a pug, 13 years old, is pretty good.....so I am preparing to lose him emotionally now.....

Now, i have to take ohter dogs out for their exercise.
