Joe Rogan is in no way a wannabe Terrence Mckenna. He's hosted Fear Factor, UFC and is a standup comedian. He just has had a couple of deep trips probably and wants to spread the word. I read Strassman's book as well and he only hypothesized that DMT is produced in the brain. The fact it's been schedule 1 for about 40 years and only was experimented in Western civilized society for a couple years, it's hard to say much about it. I don't feel like going to find sources and stuff but I have read that more people than Strassman have found that all the components to make up DMT reside in the pineal gland. I think Strassman was the first one to really claim that all those components form DMT when the brain/body is under intense duress or dreaming. (birth/dreams/Death/NDE) If you read the book and realize all the obstacles Strassman had to go through to obtain DMT to use on his subjects, I doubt the question whether the brain producing it during these times will be answered anytime soon.
Lol Joe doesn't even seem to be aware there are many types of DMT, and makes it sound like he took n,n DMT when he in fact as far my knowledge goes he takes 5-meo.
in order to trip successfully, u gotta become a UFC fighter, once u become that, u r a man, and u r ready for the DMT experience

note: when u experience unwanted creatures while on dmt, and u feel scared, threatened, and depressed, in order to vanish these creatures, you are highly recommended to set off a flash-bang grenade to scare the creatures, for good.
Money. Just like mushrooms which grow upon this earth freely and marijuana which grows on this rock freely, LSD, Mescaline, all these substances that make you trip, after a human being takes these substances your unable to absorb propaganda from the media and advertising companies that try to lead you to believe you need these products and to give them your money, your money that is FAKE anyway, they have alot invested in this economy and like in the 60's when all the kids were taking lsd and said i'm not buying into your corporate game anymore, what would that do to the rich and powerful.. well if no one wanted anything to do with money then they couldnt manipulate the poor working for said fake money to make their products and fight their wars etc. etc. Of course if you DO want to trip you can do it legally.. you can even buy it in your local corner store (dxm)... Only difference is THAT money goes to the pharmacutical company.. Just like Oxycontins and heroin. Both have pretty much the same feeling to me, similar chemical compounds, made from the same plants, same structure, everything. Difference is the rich arent getting rich off of heroin, the poor are getting rich off of it. They dont care if your addicted to oxycontins, cuz theyre making money. Its all business, and whats the point of business children.. the bottome line, to make a profit. Not to care about the consumer, not to help the poor or needy. To make more money and beat out the competitor. And sadly DMT isnt a good business venture for them :/
