    I take it that you're from the south?:D Well, Austrians say about the same things when discussing german from Germany

    But it is the truth, just listen to some Dutch people speak.
    You will recognise the Northern accent, it is horrible.

    there's a man at my old church, van herwaarden, who must be from the south, because his accent is very smooth and pretty. though it might just be the americanization (read, sloppiness) of his accent.

    Could be that Americanisation has made an impact on his accent.
    I suggest you ask him next time you see him.
    He will be quite impressed if you would know that he is from the South.

    thanks fer the tip, dr. bird... i'll be sure to remember that the next time i need to know the difference between northern and southern dutch accents...

    would you know the difference between any of the brittish accents, by any chance...?
