A question for those who travel barefoot.

Do any of you travel without taking any footwear with you?

I'm heading back to Europe soon. I've been before but only gone for 3 weeks and left my jandal (flip flop) for my good foot at home. My injured left foot is permanantely bare. This time I will be away for 6 weeks and I am still intending to do it entirely barefoot.

Personally I'd go for it barefoot, but especially as they take so little space/weight I'd have a pair of flip flops with me just in case I met some officious bastard somewhere. Chances are you'll probably be ok, but not worth risking your plans just for a point of principle.

    Hi guys.

Sadly in hawaii i have now met some officious lil bitches actually!!! This week was diff to my first week. All stores that do food mind you. Cheesecake factory i are at barefoot last week, yesterday asked me if I had any "slides" they state glass is a liability so i had to leave. Tiki bar same byt i could sit pool side. The worst facist was hawaii candy at alomoana who state they have a no shirt. No shoes policy. I said really; kept looking and took my sweet time to exit. Wtf ??? So sadly this week i did have to put 'slides' on to go out for a meal and not be asked to leave.

I had the same experience in Hawaii years ago. My girlfriend at the time was not a dedicated barefooter as such, but for some reason she had just decided to go for the week with bare feet and had not brought any footwear with her. She had to rush out and buy a pair of jandals (flip flops) as we kept being refused service.

Did you take jandals with you or did you have to go out and buy some?

Sadly there seem to be shoe police bastards the world over. It's just bad luck and a real pisser when you come up against them.

I have just come back from 3 weeks in England and Europe and had no issues with my bare feet at all, apart from the usual "Aren't your feet cold?" questions

Shoe police ?? Yeah i find stuck up bitches. But also laugh inside as it is them who are ruled and constrained and defined by society. Not I.

All good. Hardrock cafe. All good. Many many other places all good. Barefoot everywere else tho. Including submarine tour.

I pretty much never travel with shoes. I'm sure one day that's gonna bite me on the arse, but so far I've been ok. Maybe my crutches divert a bit of attention from my lack of footwear?
