the economy is falling apart. what a stupid idea that was.

well, i can go to a gathering of music or some kind of festival with tons of people doing psychedelics, with fantastic vibes, almost any time i want to. there is tons of stuff going on all the time that is just outside the eye of the law.

Man guys fuck the golden age and this change and shit when will everyone realize they can be happy with what they have.

I mean what do you guys not have that's such a big deal. In the sixties there was the draft, the man was coming down, and there was acid. Rock and roll was blooming and all that shit.

We have no draft, we have no man coming down on us, we have acid, we have beautiful rock 'n roll and more is coming. What is such a big deal that you guys need to change? Why can't we live happily in the world that was set for us?

I love my life, and I love my neighbors and I love my community. I don't necessarily dig some of the laws but I can dodge that easily.

I'm gonna say this one more time, maybe if there was a risk of all of us being sent to Iraq where we could get shot then there would be a need to revolution and shit, but our happiness is set it's not hard to enjoy today's society, if it is, I'm sorry but your looking in the wrong direction.

True true but I think this is something we can recover from, and I think that humanity could use a good "grow your own food" generation.

We can live without economy, money and all that shit. Don't let it rule you.

Great to see some sense in this thread after all. :cheers2:

Not that I don't appreciate the predicting posts covered in personal wisdom that probably only makes real sense to the person who wrote it.

2012 is the equivalent of a new Y2K, bunch of yappity yippity yap.

I honestly hope that there is change, it seems very unlikely to me, but I'm willing and hopeful. A change with a nod towards the mind-expansion era might be able to do a lot of good in this world. It also might lead to a rise to MARIJUANA INDUCED KILLINGS! AHHH!!

EDIT: Change in the world, not all this end of the world stuff. Although it would be cool...

Y2K was a fucking computer problem that could of actually went down but people didn't realize is the problem was being thought of and fixed 20 years before it actually happend.

All the computers are gonna crash because the date on everything will think its the year 00, omg were all fucked!!! Oh no wait, people are smart and told the computers it would be 2000, not the year 0, O only computers from 1965 crashed, damn that was lame.

This is nothing like Y2k at all. It is completely fucking different. The most advanced civilizations in history. Freaky advanced like that must of new how to time travel or some shit. They predicted this change in consciousness by studying astrology.

Universal energy movements producing spontaneous evolution into higher consciousness, not computers crashing so no one can go grocery shopping or know what stocks are higher.

Let's get this straight. End of the world or transcendence, which one is it?!

You have to realize that Mayans, were Mayans. They tripped balls and had spiritual experiences that became integrated into their religion. There is no real proof that ANYTHING is going to happen at all. We have a) the end of the Mayan calender with some vague prophecy about blackness and descending into something; that's it. Mayans were not the most advanced civilizations in history, we are. Computers>Sticks and stones.

    1) This will be the end of the Mayan calender only because certain astrological bodies will be in alignment, it's the end of the calender the same way as 12 o'clock is the "end" of a clock. The calender it's self is an actual circle (seriously) so the end is just the end of this era, the same as our December 31.
    2) They believed in what we would call the circle of life so nothing is the end, I guarantee.

EDIT: That's the Mayan point of view of their calender, all this hooby jooby is the western view of their calender, so who are you gonna trust? The people who wrote the book or the people reading?

I don't think its the end of the world, i think its a shift in consciousness. Perhaps a complete shift in all energy to a higher frequency, we would be able to perceive reality in a higher state of consciousness. A 20 mic acid trip might be the baseline feeling for human existence.

Why would the world end? There would be not point to the game if it were to end. Unless it were to be transformed. Destroyed and transformed like the cosmic dance of Shiva!

^ I saw your post and avatar and asked myself when the fuck I posted that....lol..

Not end of world - just complete change of world :)...

And yea... even Mayan calendar is not suggesting that end of world will happen, its just end of one era... And that already happened before, not just once.

personally i dont believe any of this hooby jooby new age crap. and ive read a lot of it.
From Jose Arguilles (total fraud) to John Major Jenkins (very good archaeological work, but no real basis in maya cosmology)

the maya timekeepers are still around and winter solstice 2012 is not seen as some doomsday or mythical consciousness opening event. people have played this up so big without any real Maya elders having their voices heard. Most Maya/Nahuatl people DO NOT see this as the end of the world. In fact the Chilam Balam, the book of prophecy associated with this date only associates it with the return of KulKulkan and a time of dearth or famine. there are other prophecies for dates after this upcoming 2012 solstice so obviously the calendar does not end there.

you can read the Chilam Balam online. a quick google search will yield several results.

These are what I have taken out of my reading on the whole 2012 dealy

The Maya said that the world will go through 5 katuns, or ages. In 2012 it is the end of the fourth katun. Not the end of the world, but a drastic changes in the events that occur.

Also, on Dec 21, 2012 our solar system will line up with a black hole in the center of the Milky Way.

The Mayans weren't the only ones to predict an event on this date, there are Chinese, Hopi, Egyptian prediction as well as prophecies from Nostradamus. Whether these are related can't be proven but I do find it worth noting that seemingly unrelated ancient cultures all produced a prediction on this date.

Many people knew Y2K was a fake way before the event happened, there were no predictions from ancient cultures of apocalypse or change, it was all a computer programming issue that was easily resolved.

Now I know many people will say that humans have always obsessed with the Armageddon and that 2012 is a false. I have done reading on other situations where people thought the world was ending, but there was never anything based on this much actual written evidence, which is why I believe that something significant will happen. I can't tell you what will happen, nobody can, but I do suggest that we don't just blow this off as a bunch of fooey.

maybe. but i don't think anyone is really in any kind of position to say what it is that is going to actually happen.

and what isn't a cultural misappropriation? i mean we never really have any idea of what was/is going to happen(ing) outside of the present moment. it doesn't matter if the world is going to end in 2012, or even tomorow. it doesn't matter what happened 40 years ago. all that matters is right here, right now. when we start looking away from ourselves and the present moment for answers all that we see is a reflection of our ugly desires. that's all culture is really, our desires taking form.
