Talking about psychedelics is useless with people who have never experienced. They will always either be in awe or judge you. Being a member of a church with peyote as a sacrament I have to explain myself to friends and family when i leave for a weekend with a cedar box full of feathers, rattles, and dried cactus. Do i think I am onto some kind of brilliant secret enlightenment? No. I'm just learning way of life that is different but is close to my heart, and I don't think this way is for everyone. I don't think everyone should try psychedelics. What i do think people should do is turn inward, and see what their own path is and then go seek that. You don't need to advertise what you are doing to validate it, just living the vision is enough. As far as obsessing goes, I find there is little merit in obsessing over anything. Put your focus where it really needs to be, otherwise you will be like the aforementioned 99% of users who cannot function worth a shit.
Nice post. But, just like when i make postings about dealing with DMT fear with submission and surrender: So easy to say/write, so difficult to do/put into real practice. A worthy endeavor though.
I'm the same exact way. If I were you, and I had friends that weren't interested in what i had to say I would suggest you find people to hang with that are just as obsessed or even more obsessed than you. experiment with your trips. make yourself the subject of your own experimennt
someday your questions will be fulfilled with answers based of experiences and challenges . you will move past the mind onto the spirit. but intill the point of spiritual fulfillment, you will continue to question to possibility of a higher state of mind, but you need to put yourself there. and live that higher state of consciousness, before you can even ask the questions right, to understand it all the way. Its constant progression. You can say no a million ways; but there is only one way to say ur on a good trail.
Good thread. Interestingly enough, I find it is hard to talk about ego death and issues of the same nature with even regular trippers! I find people stare at me like I'm insane when I get excited having heard they have 'tried' a psyche and I mention 'losing my body' or something similar, drifting away with the fractals, and it kinda reminds me of the spectrum of users and experiences that are offered. I sit back when hearing others have used and try to kinda 'gauge' their experience/s before getting too excited these days That is why this website is perfect, those of us who 'came to' from an experience we didn't even know was possible scour all the information we can for the following weeks, months, years trying to learn, discuss, understanding, intergrate, and this forum turns up! For the others who have not only done a 'drug', but have had such an experience that they join a forum just to discuss and find like minded individuals! I really enjoyed reading this thread.
Hello Beyond, You might want to find a copy of Charles Hayes' book, Tripping. Some interesting trips in there. Amazing Dope Tales by Stephen Gaskin is a true trip by a true hippie.
The best part of psy use isn't thinking while on them, LSD and others can cause quite a mind scramble. The best thoughts come after when you can think and assess what you experienced clearly. Getting high all the time ain't good kind of
