"Dark Night of the Soul" by St. John of the Cross is one of my all-time favorite poems that illustrates the eroticism of union with God. Written by a Spanish priest and mystic poet, he explores union with his Divine Lover by painting a picture of a secret tryst. An excerpt: Unfortunately, many traditional Catholic interpretations of the poem have desexualized it, whitewashing the gorgeous homoerotic themes into something more palatable for the pious. Here, you can enjoy the poem in its full glory, without sanitized commentary, and allow yourself to be swept up in the orgasmic experience of God as Lover: Go to poetseers.org
