There are so many in my world. Start off by telling the world that home made UNSWEETENED iced tea and UNSWEETENED lemonade are real things and should be consumed during these hot summer days. Also smudging with sage and a few positive affirmations can start the day off right. Consider eating fresh vegetables or salad at breakfast time.
Be mindful of water consumption for self care. Not asking you to be a dirty hippie ( :( ) but there are ways of using water judiciously and still make yourself clean. Find and use products that are eco friendly. Recycle glass!
    Feel free to add :)

It hasn't exactly moved in the direction I had in mind. But, I'm not a leader.

I have been thinking about holiday cards. 'tis the season that I write mine. It is one of the few extravagances that I allow myself that really sort of goes against my practices. The cards are made of paper (a limited resources) and the postage is quite dear. Postal service in the USA is not as efficient as it used to be. And I wonder if the recipient even cares.
The practice is not particularly a hippie attribute. It spreads a small amount of good cheer (and that's a plus). It puts a happy note during the colder days of the year's end.
I'm still thinking of my hippie practices that I'd like to bring back. Like playing 2 or 3 vinyls at night.

I mail out paper Christmas cards too. Too many people these days send a Christmas text, email, tweet, etc. It's just not the same and never will be.
I got rid of my vinyl, still have CDs. I'm in an apartment building so I can only play them in the daytime.

Bring back “Compersion”. It started in the Hippie era. We still practice it today in all aspects of our relationship. Including sex with others. It gives us great joy in seeing each other happy and self satisfied.

    • Braless women in tie dyed tees. Kids today wear bras with the straps showing out from under their tops, Get rid of the bra.
    • Sandals that men can wear without being scorned for wearing them.
    • Bell bottom and flared jeans and slacks.
    • As another said, women letting body hair grow under their arms.
    • Long hair on men. Not tied up in a "man bun" but flowing over the shoulders. Men with long hair is often looked down upon today.
    • Music with a purpose. Today's music is all commercially produced and mostly all the same. There is no individualism to it. Many artists of the 60's presented music that meant something.
    • Outdoor events just letting people come to the concert and enjoy the music. But the people have to behave and express love and peace all around.
    • Flower stickers on VW's or any small cars with peace symbols on the windows.
    • Greeting others with two fingers extended from the loose fist indicating love and peace to the one you meet.
    • Quiet peaceful protests. Sit in's we called them. Peaceful marches. Not the types we see today with looting and burning. Oh we saw it in the 60's too but we also saw many more peaceful demonstrations that did more. That caused change. It's sad that the hippies of yesterday have lost their way today.

Fucking with the old Blue Hairs. I remember the old women meeting on a church parking lot, burning rock and roll albums. We drove by blasting our speakers, to Steppenwolf. I'm older now, but if the younger generation, did that today. I would praise them.
