I only write lil' bursts of short poems......some of yer might enjoy them tho' :)

    Forgotten Ground

A brown scar through the heart of the forest
The green beaten by mans booted tread

Unknown boundaries are broken, untold fears, now spoken
The Spirits and their Kin have all fled

Brown scars scab over, healing smooth in black tar
The wind weeps through branches long dead

Eyes trapped in headlights, nature's last chance screams "Mercy?"
Nature's last chance, turns black tarmac red..

    Obvious Answer

When I die and face my god
There are questions I must ask
"Why didn't you stop us suffering and starving?
Why didn't you stop our pain and hate?
    Our anguish from lives past?"

But in my heart I know the answer
As the god turns to me with eyes so true
    And simply asks
    "Why didn't you?"

    FRIENDS

Friends are theose people we greet
And smile without knowing whenever we meet
People we see smiling through a viel of tears
Who we may never see but remember through the years

A friendship is strong but not solid
    Sometimes a pleasure, sometimes horrid
It can be moulded and stretched, tattered and worn
But the grasp to a friend can never be torn

Friends can be happy, funny and wise
Or just a shoulder to lie on and rest weary eyes
Someone to cling to, to keep the nightmares away
And an ear to listen, when your whole world turns grey..

    HIDING IN A BROWN BOTTLE

    Prozac nation,
    Sweet sedation,
Living a lie in pleasant hesistation

    Smile of a clown,
    Never a frown,
Just keep swallowing that tablet down

    Through fog you'll wade,
    Those dreams are unmade,
As the Pill's sweet kiss begins to fade

    A nightmare you'll see,
    Surrounds you and me,
When the tablet's firm hold once more sets you free

    Wish Upon a Star

Catch a star in a teacup, a wish for eternity
A guiding light, for a life of uncertainty
If the future is a highway, a black tar river
That clots and chokes, causing life to wither
Then we must rise above, and learn to float
Wear hope on our shoulders, like an ill-fitting coat
Though it slips and shifts, a burden to carry
To it we can grasp, never affording to tarry
In the land of apathy, and slow melancholy
We only grow silent, stagnant and sorry
Travel down life's highway, your course straight and clear
The wind in you face, a song in your ear
Take the star from the teacup, hold it's light from your eyes
Wish you mind free of darkeness, embrace the sun's rise...

    Touching. Sadness descends, compassion mends
while we manifest a new earth through co-creative dreams.

Isn't that one of the beauties of poetry? It lets us give lil' glimpses of ourselves, without stripping everything bare? :)

I don't reallywrite poetry, i don't have the tempermet to sit and craft something beautiful from words.....they just come as lil' quick streams of conciousness.....

Loves ya too court....pleased ya found 'em....and more pleased yer liked 'em :D I read your's as well, and loved them.....I don't do poetry crit tho'...studied peotry at college...and i can now be over-critical :(

more to come.....as soon as i can find the farkin' notebook i scribble em down in....

An old one i dug up......written back in the days when i had terminal boredom...

Another Dead Day on the Dole

    Monday becomes Tuesday
    With Friday inbetween
    The dawn is redundant
    "Neighbours" is my herald
The Start of my New Day
    Crawling from my bed
    A yawn, a stretch and a smoke
An expensive coke, but no smile
As i join the daytime drinking dead
    At the pub
The last hope of the bored and confused
Alcohol fills the corners of their mind
Which imagination has fled and left bare
Monotone music and conversation as grey
And my head rattles to the light
Owl-wide i stare into the street
    through the window's invisible etchings
    I see the Happy Shoppers
Choking on their own exhaust fumes
Grim determination carved into their faces
As they carry out the pre-set program of their lives
Hours pass and i sit in silence
As the coke grows silent and warm
And lies in my stomach like stale treacle
Another glass, ice chilled and overflowing
Is stragely beyond my pockets grasp
So, slowly I sip the gloop
    Through a tobacco scorched mouth
    Until slowly, yet inevitably
The TV yells the Eastenders chorus
    The Swansong of my day
With a smile of cardboard, i wave my farewells
    Stepping reluctantly into the night
Hoping, if once, then a score
That a break in this routine
Will replace my life of self styled choice
With a life that I actually need

    Let Me Ask Another..

    And I wonder who
To prove their point of view
Tore a hole in the sky
    So the angels could cry
    Over me?

    Let there be Love

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

    For Auld Lang Syne
    My Dear?
    to design
    or resign
    To the New Year?

    Expectations
    Unreachen goals
    Stop smoking
    once again?
    Resolutions?
    Revolutions!
    On an
    unran wheel?

    Open doors?
    Rome's new laws.
    But their god
    is dead?
    Does the future
    beckon?
    Or is it
    trapped?
    Inside?
    Your head?

    Drink of
    kindness?
    Look back on
    loss?
    Give comfort
    for the future
    Laugh as the
    past is lost?

    The wheel
    remains unran
    But it turns
    just the same
    By it's revolution
it's here in time we came

    For Auld Lang Syne

I live in a World where....

A rock musician tells me that millions are starving
I've been convinced that money for food is fair trade
I think that exposure means living without central heating
And going barefoot is a choice
I've just eaten a meal packed with calories
More calories than most see in a week
My wallet may be empty....... but I still don't know what poverty is.

At night the houses are brightened
By the streetlamp's harsh neon light
There is no darkness on these roads to fear
But I can see the curtains twitching
And alarm bells are primed for their scream
The grandparents now fear the children
I've never known a time of war...... I wonder if this is peace.

A threadbare economy will devastate a country
More efficiently than a bomb ever could
Those we put in power will use both
We hope to consign hate to the history books
With every vote we carefully place
Keep those coins rolling and hate becomes distaste
My voice is only heard in the voting booth..... it's time to yell louder.

The Pagans still wish we were cavemen
A bomb secures a place at Allah's right side
Only the Gays and the Priests wish to marry
As guns once more roar in God's name
Preach love but not tolerance is the order
The church doors are locked although the bell still rings
I'm living in days where religion is dying..... I've yet to meet a faithless sinner.

Whisper you love me as you sign the prenup
And your mother will cry at your wedding
As she sees Uncle John staring into Peter's eyes
Your grandparents learned sex on their honeymoon
We need porn to wet the appetite our sex life is stale
The neighbour is a whore I've seen three men there this week
Love conquers all it seems..... even common sense.

Fuck you Jack because i'm okay get out of my light
All that I have belongs to me I see no reason to share
    Don't talk to me you're a stranger I don't trust your eyes
Give my shrink a ring he'll care for a price of silver
And no i didn't mean to hurt them but what do i care
They were stood in my way it's their own fault
I know what my neighbours did today.... I don't know their names.

But these are just the tiniest fractions
Of the world I strive not to run from
I've heard the laughter in the forest
Known joy at a young childs smile
Felt the breath of Love on my face
And these are the things I'll cling to
The world in which I live..... does not deserve my hate.
