A Critique of Tony Robbins

This guy doesn't know what he doesn't know.

 

I don't feel like listening to what some random guy has to say about someone I never heard of.

 

To those who don't know him. Tony Robbins is a well known motivational speaker/success coach. He became famous for his Personal Power infomercials in the 90's.

 

i thought he became famous for shallow hal.

 

My only issue with some self help gurus is that they can come with one size fits all approaches. I think people will need to be helped based on their individual evaluations. People can have different experiences that can affect how they deal with life.

 

A bank in Chicago now has a full time psychologist on staff for customers depositing the minimum ten million dollars, so you can literally cry all the way to the bank now and get instant relief, while studies indicate that spending money is now the single most popular way Americans buy happiness. One in five Americans insists the sun revolves around the earth, while in over a century nobody has ever documented the existence of common sense anywhere in the world, yet half the world still insists the other half is insane. Tony Robins merely did what academics themselves do, he plagiarized everything he could get his hot hands on, adapted it to mainstream thought, and sold it like a real estate salesman.

Sadly, the problem with the video is the same problem I come across with both psychologists and physicists insisting they know what the fuck they are talking about, then admitting they don't know a fucking thing about linguistics. They spout endless nonsense, never knowing a thing about what the hell they are actually saying.

 

He merely reflects the fact the mental health system has become a branch of the pharmaceutical companies, and the mental health of the country has never been worse, and has always been the worst in the developed world. Robins doesn't just reflect the upper middle class, he reflects the worst aspects of the mental health system, which no amount of money seems capable of addressing, because academics could not be more full of crap.
