Law enforcement love vague laws, because they say it makes their jobs easier. Illegal to be homeless, illegal to beg, illegal to be addicted to drugs (no kidding: California, in 1962). But that's the point. A police officer's job should never be easy. Because we are all innocent till proven guilty. Like when it was illegal to be Chinese, the U.S. Supreme Court said, in 1879. A doctor's job should be easy, and an electrician. But never a cop's. Because then we're all in trouble.
