Any other Ontarians up for a gather?
I'm aiming drive to Maxwell tomorrow morning, hitting the Highland Games from noon till sixish then heading to Kingston and over-nighting it at Rollin's. If all works out.

slowest day at work... got everything we had to get done by 11am, spent the next 4 hours just doing pointless shit jobs to kill time, cleaning out the truck, organizing the tool box, sweeping the gravel I was hoping to go home early on a friday but got stuck doing that until 3... ahwell, I need to make as much money as I can before I get laid off in october

Don't know what i'm going to do in october... I want to get into some electrical work right aways, but it'd be hard getting hired in the winter.. thats when everything slows down.. I might be unemployed for a while, I'll need to take that into consideration when getting a truck

I'd wait until I have a new job just to play it safe, except i don't think my car will last that long... But i'm thinking of getting a small loan through the bank instead, that way i can find a cheaper truck on craigslist or whatever.. rather than paying 18grand and be stuck paying it off for years at a dealership...

i keep finding great cheap trucks that i can actually afford... but they all end up being across the border... do they scan your plates or anything at the border? (never really been to the states) if not.. I could just take my plates off my car, get a ride down there, put them on the truck and drive it back without anyone knowing? Then once I get back get insurance on it right aways..?

That sounds to easy though, I don't think that could work... Unless it does? Lol i dunno..

they scan your plates and listen to you talking in the truck ..and run your criminal record etc before you're even near the checkpoint

I just didn't wanna buy the truck thinking i'm getting a good deal, then i get to the border and i owe a few grand in duties and shit then i end up paying even more than i would here.. plus then i'd have an american truck.. which wouldn't be a big deal i assume except the speedometer would be in miles..

oh, and the suspension would be trashed because yaaa'll a buncha fat fucks j/k loll

i've been listening to country music so much lately.. used to hate it, but ever since i started this job its been growing on me... I work out of town in the country, and alls everyone listens to there is country, so at first i was kind of forced to listen to it.. driving from site to site, the radio at jobs we bring, etc, all country..

then one day i realized.. i'm listening to it and i'm not even at work, shit, i love country

still can't stand the old classic country music though.. this stuffs good though
