The fact that I was a kid. Life was simple back then. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network were the shit, the snacks were unhealthy and no one cared. Like literally a dime bag of sugar and a sugar stick to shovel it into your face, who were we kidding? Lol those little stretchy plastic chokers, everything was just better then. Even the internet.
Pogs, Bop Magazine, Tiny Toons, Otter pops, Bubble tape, TGIF show line up, Mac n cheese, slap bracelets, the lack of YouTube, climbing trees...
AIM was my shit back in the day. I did some pretty dumb things talking to strangers but the internet was new and I didn't know any better. This forum itself is a blast from the past. Sometimes I look in subsections I used to post in around 2008 and people haven't posted in a lot of the threads since 2009 or whatever. It's funny to go back and see what I was like then. I like to think I'm pretty consistent but I think I'm more grounded these days, less into partying. In other words, I'm getting old and I want to be alone with my Kindle and my tea.
the 90s is when I started to get into trouble. I regret plenty of it, but there were some good times. And as someone mentioned, tiny tunes. I maybe already said Pinky & the Brain in this thread too. But anyway... I was born in 80, so in 90 I was 10. 91/11, 92/12, and so on. In 93 I went away to a boarding school for troubled kids. That actually turned out to be outstanding and the greatest/biggest learning experience of my existence. I graduated from there in 95 and went to a regular high school in February (halfway through the school year) of 1996. So really the nineties were a fairly turbulent albeit beneficial time in my life. But in 96 I started messing around with drugs and alcohol. Things got worse before they got better. But that wraps it up for the 90s for me!
Staying up late at night with my bestie to catch our favorite music vids on MTV. This was around when MTV was starting to suck but they still played all the good stuff late at night And then she managed to get MuchMusic in her cable pacakage and it was like a whole new world opened up. That was the first time I realized Canadians were probably cooler than Americans.
Those crusty demons VHS tapes. They were always a good way to learn new music and bands. Granted I don't think I ever got into any bands because of them. 5 years ago I even heard Madrox from Twiztid busting out a rhyme, so it may have go from metal to underground sound now. Crusty Demon 2000 metal millennium was the best, started out with a real Truckasaurus and Metallica, WHIPLASH!
